Relais Blu is a charming boutique hotel in the heart of the Marine Reserve of Punta Campanella, between the Amalfi coast and the Sorrento Peninsula. With just 11 bedrooms, all with a sea view, the hotel is a haven of peace and tranquillity.

Each of the 11 rooms at Relais Blu is spacious and designed in a distinctively Mediterranean style. The mix of fine antiques and modern furniture gives this hotel a fresh and comfortable feel. Dishes on the menu include catch of the day with an almond crust, aubergine puree and tomato gazpacho, pork loin with apricot compote and Tonka broad bean on braised endive and roasted sea bass with courgette flowers and a pea and peach salad.

For those who want to relax in the sun, you can choose either the swimming pool or one of the two nearby beaches . The Garden Romantico and Nerano are easily reached and are only 10 minutes away. There is a beach club which offers guests a free shuttle service when using their beach facilities.

My husband and I were lucky enough to start our mini-moon at Relais Blu - it was the perfect place to relax and unwind. The view from the terrace of the Sorrento coastline and Capri is absolutely breathtaking and we were very happy to spend our first couple of hours drinking Presecco there! An equally beautiful spot is the hotel's infinity pool which enjoys the same view. We took lunch on the terrace by the pool which was very pleasant indeed.

Our room was a "special sea view" category which was spacious and elegant with fresh nautical colors. Our balcony was large with a double lounger with Capri seemingly within touching distance and framed by beautiful olive trees.

We thought the location couldn't get more beautiful until we witnessed the sunset! Our pre-dinner cocktail on the terrace was divine and the dinner was very good too. The restaurant serves more locally influenced cuisine on a Monday night which suited us very well and was absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly, attentive and couldn't do enough for you.

A great hotel for relaxation! Lots of space and not too many rooms, great service and incredible food. The pool area is very nice, lovely sea views and a great beach club. The decor is simple but stylish, not too over the top and has a very nice relaxed atmosphere.

We stayed here for two nights as part of a tour of the Amalfi coast, and I'd have to say it was probably our favorite of the four great hotels we visited. It's a little off the beaten track, which adds to its charm, and has a very comfortable, chilled-out atmosphere slightly unusual among hotels of this class. Service is relaxed but efficient, overseen by the charming and hands-on 30-something owner-manager Antonino Acampora and his sister. The design of the hotel throughout is cool white minimalism, but you're likely to be sold on the place within the first five minutes - as soon as you see the spectacular views from the terrace bar, visible as soon as you walk through the front door and offering a panorama stretching over the entire bay of Naples, with the island of Capri perfectly positioned in the center of the frame.

A steep walk up the hillside from reception bring you to the equally photogenic infinity pool (unheated!), which from the loungers appears to blend seamlessly into the bay hundreds of meters below. Our room was spacious, enhanced by a sweet little garden with its own olive tree and views over the outdoor jacuzzi and the bay beyond. Very nice, although the lighting in the bathroom was a little dim. The restaurant is great too, also situated on the panorama terrace and offering fine dining without too much fussiness, with a glorious setting sun as your breath-taking backdrop.

It's worth noting that there isn't too much to do or see in the immediate vicinity. This is definitely the quieter part of the coast. The hotel has a beach club a short taxi ride away at Nerano, but it was closed when we visited and didn't look very interesting. Instead we had a simple but very pleasant lunch at Il Cantuccio, one of several well-regarded restaurants situated on Nerano's rather basic shingle beach. Whichever one you visit, be sure to try the spaghetti with zucchini, the village specialty.
