Omis & Ston

You'll be driven south from Split to the charming town of Omis, once known as a pirate town in the Middle Ages, its residents launching attacks against ships from Venice, Dubrovnik and Split. Today Omis is a picturesque town at the mouth of the Cetina River Canyon, where the emerald green waters of the river flow into the Adriatic. Enjoy a boat trip along the river before continuing south to Ston, a fishing village on the Peljesac peninsula.
Here you'll meet a local oyster farmer and join him for a 45-minute boat ride through the oyster beds, where you'll learn about the cultivation process and have the chance to pick your own oyster and taste it fresh from the sea.
