Maximum temperatures rarely move out of the 31°C (88°F) to 26°C (79°F) range all year round. Southeast trade winds from March to November bring dry weather and the rainy season runs from December to April.
Fiji does have a wet season, which is characterised by heavy, brief local showers and contributes most of the country’s annual rainfall. The wet season is normally from November to April and results from the southerly movements of the South Pacific Convergence Zone. Cyclones do occur in Fiji and are normally confined to wet season.
The best months for holidaying in regards to Fiji weather is late March through to early December.

Nestled in the Mamanuca Islands just 15 minutes by seaplane or helicopter – or an hour by boat –from Nadi, this relaxing island retreat has it all – aquamarine waters, idyllic beaches, stylish accommodation, first-class cuisine and a spa.
Vomo’s 30 villas are elegant and stylishly furnished in shades of cream and brown, with rich hardwood floors and romantic mosquito netted beds. The Resort features 21 Deluxe Beachside Villas tucked amongst the palms and frangipani trees just steps from the beach or one of 3 Deluxe Hillside Villas which enjoy panoramic ocean views. All villas feature CD players, corner spa baths and private sundecks complete with loungers, tables and chairs. Each of the villas has a king size bed (which can be split into two singles if necessary) – and for families, most of the Beachside Villas are in blocks of two and can interconnect. Alternatively, a family of up to four can share either the three-bedroom Royal Villa or the four-bedroom Residence.
Vomo’s powder soft white sand beaches rank amongst the best in Fiji and are fringed with crystal clear turquoise waters, ideal for enjoying the wide array of watersports which include snorkelling, scuba-diving, kayaking, windsurfing, fishing and hobie-cat sailing. Island-hopping excursions, sunset cruises, volleyball, tennis and golf are also available. Or, hike to Vomo Point (the island’s highest point) for breathtaking panoramic views – but if this all sounds too energetic, just relax by the swimming pool, find a hammock strung between the trees, escape to the nearby tiny island of Vomo Lailai for a private picnic or indulge in a soothing spa treatment!
The original name for Vomo was ‘Vonu’, Fijian for ‘turtle’ – the resort has a breeding programme for the hawksbill turtle – and children and adults alike will love to visit these creatures which are kept in captivity on the island until they are big enough to be released into the sea. Vomo offers its Turtle Club programme for children (operates in Australian and New Zealand school holidays) and babysitters are available year round.
Food plays an integral role in the Vomo experience – delicious meals using the finest Pacific Island produce are usually served in the Reef Restaurant but private beach dinners can easily be arranged. The stylish poolside Vuda Bar is perfect for a relaxing drink – and for sunset cocktails, we highly recommend the Rocks Bar at the end of the island.
Accommodation comprises 28 luxurious air conditioned one-bedroom villas with your choice of beachfront or hillside with views over the ocean and the Royal Villa which houses three en-suite guest rooms and a private pool. The Residence Villa features even greater indulgence with four en-suite guest rooms, a private pool and butler service.
Children are welcomed with open arms at Vomo and will love the Turtle Club, where for no additional charge they will be entertained with numerous different activities designed to suit their age group. The Turtle Club is open during the main school holiday periods. Babysitting can also be provided on request.
Vomo houses the main Reef Restaurant for lunch and dinner, casual snacks and drinks all day at the Vuda Bar and evening drinks and cocktails at the Rocks Bar.
