Insider Memphis Music and History Tour
A wonderfully insightful tour for the music lover. You will get to explore Memphis’ role in music and history as you visit some of the most iconic locations in town.
Your expert guide and enthusiast of all things blues and Rock ‘n’ Roll will discuss the free-wheeling innovators who rocked the industries based in the city. They will then take you on an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour with the Peabody’s famous duck master as he leads the daily march of the resident Peabody Ducks.
Take a walk to the iconic birthplace of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Sun Studios, where your guide will share stories of the local musical heroes such as Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison and Jerry Lee Lewis who all recorded here; feel free to self-explore or join a small group tour. Then head back into downtown along Beale Street, the cradle of the Memphis Blues. Stand in the footsteps of musical pioneers and hear stories of Elvis's forays onto Beale Street as a teenager along the way. You will end your tour at the Lorraine Motel, now the National Civil Rights Museum, where Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated. Here, you can self-explore, or you may elect to follow guide back to the Peabody to conclude your tour.
