Miami is a year-round destination but summers can be hot and humid and September and October have a slight risk of hurricanes. Ideal conditions exist between December and May, when temperatures average between 16°C and 30°C, and average rainfall is a mere 2.14in per month. Summer is very hot and humid, with thunderstorms rolling in at 3pm or 4pm. August is both the rainiest and hottest month – and there’s always the chance of hurricanes.
To start planning your vacation to The Setai South Beach
The Setai is a fabulous design hotel blending Art Deco architecture and Asian-inspired interior motifs, and providing a serene, light-filled oasis with impeccable service overlooking the white sand and turquoise water of Miami’s famed South Beach.
Surrounded by a wealth of period Art Deco buildings, and close to some of Miami’s finest restaurants, the Setai South Beach is an exquisitely designed luxury hotel comprising two different buildings: a landmark 1930s Art Deco building and, right beside, a dazzling 40-storey glass tower with magnificent views over the city and the beach.
Junior and Studio Suites are housed in the Art Deco Building and are spacious retreats decorated in earth tones and beautiful detailed and finished with authentic jade pieces and rich teak panelling. The Tower is home to the One- and Two-bedroom Suites as well as the unique and opulent Specialty Suites, all vast spaces many of which have full ocean views. All suites are fitted out with fabulous luxury from the handmade beds and fine linens to the sumptuous black granite bathroom with Asprey toiletries. State-of-the-art technology includes plasma TVs and a Bose surround sound system.
The Setai’s cuisine, under Michelin-starred Executive Chef David Werly, has won many awards, and blends traditional cooking styles of the Far East with classical Western dishes, while the Pool and Beach Bar is one of the best spots in Miami for a relaxed al fresco lunch of ceviche, fresh seafood or a brick oven pizza under a balmy ocean breeze. The Bar is a stylish place to enjoy one of the Setai’s signature chilli passion Martinis.
Hotel facilities include the exceptional Spa at The Setai, which has also won a number of awards, and where you can receive the ultimate pampering through a range of treatments can be uniquely personalized for you. There are three lovely swimming pools surrounded by day beds, and a full beach service. If you want to get out onto the water, you can hire jet skis, rent a yacht for the day, go parasailing or explore beneath the waves by scuba or snorkeling. Golf and tennis can easily be arranged for landlubbers.
After sunset, South Beach comes to life, and the hotel’s concierge can help you keep pace with the latest bars, clubs and live music venues.
The Setai has 85 Studio Suites, 45 one, two and three bed suites and a Penthouse. All rooms are equipped with rain showers, a 22-inch flat-screen LCD TV with Bose surround-sound CD/DVD system, Wi-Fi and an Illy espresso coffeemaker.
Children are welcome to come and stay at The Setai South Beach, however there are no specific facilities available for them at the hotel.
The Restaurant uses the freshest of ingredients for its exceptional Asian-inspired fare and features an award-winning wine list. The Grill is more relaxed and delivers simple, good food and wine that is delicious. The Pool & Beach Bar stretches almost the entire length of the pool deck (it is 90-foot-long!) and offers a quintessentially South Beach atmosphere in which to enjoy cool beverages and Mediterranean-style dishes. There are three swimming pools, all maintained at different temperatures, private day-beds on the beach, a spa and fitness center.
Water sports, golf, tennis and deep-sea diving are all available nearby. Private yacht & plane charters available on request.

Its been almost 6 years since I last visited the Setai South Beach and yet time seems to have stood still for it. This is definitely not in a negative way, it still has that special timeless quality that keeps it at the very top of its game and a Miami South Beach staple for those guests looking for the very best. Theres a reason they have such a high repeat guest clientele, they simply know what they are getting and what they are getting is good. In a city where new hotels are opening constantly, it still offers a quality, a calm and elegance that is rarely seen in this party area. From the tranquillity of the courtyard, perfect for a relaxed breakfast or evening cocktail through to its Ocean Grille, the only one directly on the beach and looking out to the ocean in South Beach, its South beach living, without the blaring music. With its Asian influences, the Setai is gentile and special. The interiors may not have changed much but rely on their simplicity to not look dated and whilst there are more modern and stylish hotels now around, they will struggle to offer the same experience and service of the Setai. It had been a long time since I last visited but I was not disappointed, this hotel still delivers in every way.
