Situated only 6° south of the equator, Zanzibar enjoys ideal vacation weather. Temperatures average between 24°C and 27°C throughout the year with 7-9 hours of sunshine per day.
There are 2 rainy seasons: Acute, brief showers, lasting about an hour in the morning occur for a couple of weeks during November. The rains last slightly longer in April and May, but even then it does not rain every day. These rains replenish the Island and are often referred to as the “Green Season”.
To start planning your vacation to Kasha Boutique
Kasha Boutique hotel is built on a coral cliff located in Matemwe on Zanzibar's East Coast and has 11 luxurious villas that overlook Mnemba island. The villas are spacious and beautifully furnished with a private baraza outdoor lounge with a plunge pool.
In a beautiful position on the north east coast of Zanzibar, Kasha Boutique Hotel is reached by a relatively long drive through Zanzibar's villages. It's a small and intimate little resort, with just eleven villas, all set in lovely gardens and with a view over the Mnemba atoll coral reef.
Each villa is beautifully designed, secluded and spacious, with a large airy room with seating area and bed, and great bathrooms with large, built-in baths. Outside each is a deck with a comfortable seating area and a refreshing plunge pool.
Kasha's main area is huge, with plenty of places for sitting and relaxing, and a large restaurant overlooking the view providing delicious meals - the chefs pride themselves on combining the freshest fish with Zanzibari spices. There is also a DVD and television room, which has wifi, and a good little boutique shop selling local carvings, batiks and colorful kikoys as well as useful items such as sun lotion and toothpaste.
Walk down the long path and you will reach the natural sea pool, surrounded by sun loungers, with the pool bar to the left. Casual lunches are served here along with a variety of cocktails to enjoy as the sun sets - and the pool is large enough to swim laps and very refreshing. When the tide is high it is possible to swim in the sea; at low tide the walks along the beach are lovely.
A little further along is Kasha's spa, offering massage treatments for weary travelers - it's open-sided and faces the sea - perfect for a bit of pampering!
All the 11 villas are identical throughout and arranged so that all offer sea views. Some are closer to the sea, which is why there is a sea view and sea front category. The sea front villas do not have direct access to the beach as they are also located on the coral cliff. The Villas are spacious, open plan and tastefully decorated with a lounge area, outside shaded sun deck and plunge pool.
The dinning at Kasha is an important element to a guests stay and the menu makes the most of all the flavors and aromas that Zanzibar have to offer. A typical menu will offer a choice of three starters, main courses and desserts and will usually include sea food caught fresh daily, vegetarian and meat or poultry dishes. Ingredients are locally sourced with jams and marmalades also made locally.
Romantic moonlight dinners can be organized at your Villa, the Pool or in Kasha's special dining deck overlooking the sea.
The Nargili Bar offers a large selection of international brands and Kasha's barmen will take the pleasure in mixing your favorite cocktail.
Anna Hearn (Staff)
Kasha Boutique Hotel, situated overlooking the Mnemba atoll, is a great spot for honeymooners. It has just eleven villas, situated quite a distance apart from each other, and each one air-conditioned with an outside deck and a small plunge pool - more of a splash pool but certainly very welcoming in Zanzibar's heat!
The main area is under thatch, and enormous and houses the bar, several seating areas and then a separate TV and DVD room, which to be honest guests will barely use. There is a great restaurant and while we didn't eat there the manager explained that the chefs use surf-fresh fish wherever they can, and combine this with traditional Zanzibari spices to create delicious meals.
Further down, and overlooking the sea, is an infinity pool dotted with sun loungers and a nearby beach bar where casual lunches are served. It's a remote little place perfect for those looking for seclusion and relaxation.
