Fantastic swimming pool
The Karoo Lodge is a luxurious colonial style homestead, providing a perfect family bush experience. Stretching from the dramatic mountains of the Karoo to the magnificent plains of Camdeboo, Samara encompasses 28,000 hectares of land, and offers a magnificent game experience in an East African style.
The Karoo Lodge at Samara has ten suites. Three of these are luxury lodge suites (within the main lodge) that open out onto the spacious covered patio surrounding the home, with views of the amphitheater of mountains and the other seven rooms are Karoo suites (individual suites outside the main lodge) all with private patios.
There are also indoor and outdoor dining areas, lounge areas, a bar area, a swimming pool and a Karoo kitchen. At the end of a day exploring the game reserve indulge in a relaxing massage in the comfort of your own room by the lodge's therapist or at the Samara spa.
The private Karoo bushveld offers breathtaking and far reaching views, four biomes, dramatic mountains, complex and diverse eco-systems and 60 mammal species including Cape Mountain zebra, elephant, giraffe, rhino, buffalo, antelope, and some incredible up close encounters with aardvark and cheetah.
When to visit
Be completely blown away by the awe-inspiring scenery and the beautiful night sky. I even saw a quick glimpse of the elusive Aardvark at Samara.
