The historic Mala Mala Camp is the first private South African game reserve to revolutionise the transition from hunting-based to photographic-based safaris.
Mala Mala’s ochre colored buildings are clustered amid shady trees and manicured lawns overlooking the Sand River. The individually decorated, spacious and comfortable rooms under traditional thatching, essentially an oasis at the heart of the bushveld.
Accommodations are styled as a Khaya (a Zulu word for "home") with intimate atmosphere and each of the spacious room offers a private verandah and plunge pool offering picturesque view of the Sand River, which attracts wildlife into the area.
Offering 10 luxury suites, 8 luxury rooms and 1 single room, each spacious room is equipped with temperature control, direct dial phones, mini-bar, mini-safe, bathroom amenities, insect repellent and hairdryers. Children of all ages are accepted in the property, however those under 5 years old are not permitted in boma dinner or game drives. Baby-sitting can be provided at an additional cost.
Camp facilities include a safari-styled dining room, historic bar, air-conditioned library with complimentary internet and a safari boutique in case you need to purchase clothes, jewelry or artefacts. Keeping fit is a breeze with an infinity swimming pool overlooking into the picturesque river. Fitness facilities come with stationary bicycle, treadmill, multi-gym machine, rowing machine, sit-up benches, pull-up bar, weights and mats.
During safari, each vehicles take in a maximum of six guests, ensuring an exclusive adventure into the bush with an expert ranger.
