Taking you from the enchanting city of Oslo on to the heart of Aurland and the famous Flåm railway before delving into Norwegian Fjord land and to pretty Bergen with its historic buildings. You will be submerged in the outdoor lifestyle that is embraced by locals –with the abundance of majestic glaciers, fjords and mountains to explore and a whole host of activities to try.

Fly to Oslo

Days 1-3: Oslo
Oslo is the entry way into Norway and a charming, cosmopolitan city which features a mixture of architecture against a backdrop of rolling hills. Oslo has a booming contemporary art scene, some of which is highlighted at Vigeland Sculpture Park where you can meander among over 200 bronze and granite statues. A really fun way for you all to explore the city is on a fantastic highlights biking tour. This way you will get a different perspective of the city, following a path alongside the Akerselva River, stopping at the heart of Oslo’s food scene and the indoor market, Mathallen, to re-fuel and continue your exploration.
After your day's sightseeing the Amerikalinjen is the perfect family haven to relax, a luxury hotel set in a landmark building with a contemporary style and fantastic bars and restaurants. Spacious rooms are perfect for families, as well as the all-day dining brasserie and café, to keep the troops fuelled. The in-house cocktail bar, Pier 42, is popular with both guests and locals and serves cocktails with a contemporary twist. Days 3-6: Bergen & Hordaland
The journey to your next destination is an event in itself as we suggest taking the train, firstly to Myrdal which takes around four and a half hours, from where you will join the iconic Flåm railway, one of the world’s most beautiful train journeys. The 55-minute journey takes you on one of the steepest train lines in the world as you pass through a breath-taking landscape of mountains, glistening fjords and plunging waterfalls. You are sure to be disappointed when your journey comes to an end, already planning a repeat trip.
From here, it is a short journey to the charming, 29/2 Aurland, whose owners Tone & Bjorn await with a wonderful Norwegian welcome. A beautifully decorated, family-run home offers a relaxed retreat for you all to enjoy, a true home away from home. There are a number of different ways to explore the area on foot or by bike, as picnic lunches and epic hikes await, as well as incredible views of the fjord. The hosts can take you out on several trips; explore the stunning fjords by rowing boat and enjoy an al fresco picnic lunch in a serene and picturesque setting, before some time to explore the Aurland fjord region. Or why not set off with your hosts up the Aurland mountain towards Hovdungo pasture farm, taking in the fantastic views of the fjords, mountains and waterfalls surrounding you as you go. Another epic way to explore the area is to hop on your bikes, with your private guide leading the way, set off through the beautiful Flåm Valley. Follow the path through the valley, descending to the breath-taking fjord below, before stopping to recharge with a delicious picnic.Accommodation: 29/2 Aurland (3 nights)

Fly home from Bergen

Days 6-8: Bergen & Hordaland
After embracing the lifestyle at 29/2 Aurland your final destination takes you just over two and a half hours by car to Bergen, a fun trip in itself to see many great things as you travel together, you will arrive at the charming seaside city that can easily be explored on foot. Notable spots include the fish market, the funicular Fløibanen and historic Bryggen. The luxury hotel Opus XVI is the perfect base for your family to explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site and explore its many shops and spectacular restaurants.
From here there are a number of day hikes, you may choose to hike up to Mount Ulriken to enjoy the spectacular views out to the ocean. Or take part in a brilliant private guided sightseeing tour of Bergen and enjoy a return funicular tour to the top of Mount Floyen and entrance to Troldhaugen, where you will learn about the famous composer Edvard Grieg who once lived here and composed many of his best known works.Accommodation: Opus XVI (2 nights)
