Recalling an era of luxury and quality, Cottar’s 1920s Safari Camp returns to the original spirit and essence of safari, reminiscent of a golden age - an era of romance, professional guiding, adventure and elegance, in a timelessly unspoiled setting with panoramic views and boundless wildlife. Cottar’s 1920s Safari Camp and Private Bush Villa are situated in a private conservancy, just outside the Maasai Mara National Reserve, bordering the Serengeti and Loliondo game reserves.
Guests at Cottar's stay in authentic white canvas tents, which are spacious and luxuriously furnished and incorporate original safari antiques from the 1920s, private en-suite dressing rooms and bathrooms (with old-fashioned styled tubs, showers and flushing toilets), plus outdoor veranas. The family tented suites have two en-suite bedrooms with a shared living and dining area.
Cottar's Private Bush Villa comprises five en-suite bedrooms accommodating up to ten guests. The exclusive-use house offers a private home experience in the Maasai Mara and as well as the five expansive guest rooms, it includes a large dining and living room leading out onto a spacious deck, plus a 25-meter swimming pool and wood fired hot tub.
As the concession is just outside the National Reserve, guided walking and night drives are possible and come highly recommended.
