Four Seasons Sayan is just minutes from the center of Ubud, the cultural heart of Bali. Hidden amongst the working rice paddies and jungle beside the Ayung River, this hotel is the perfect retreat for a family getaway.
Highlights
Conveniently located on the outskirts of Ubud in the quieter village of Sayan, at the Four Seasons you can truly escape the hustle and bustle of the nearby bohemian town and instead relax with the sound of the river as your background music.
Make sure to try plenty of Balinese and Indonesian dishes at Agung Terrace, where nasi goreng, traditional spiced pork belly, and grilled red snapper all feature on the extensive menu.
After a busy day of exploring Ubud’s rice fields and temple complexes, return to Sayan and unwind at the spa with a warm Abhyanga-style massage or a blissful rose and sandalwood facial.
If you’re looking for an added level of privacy, look no further than the sumptuous Pool Villas which, as the name suggests, boast a very tempting plunge pool.
The Four Seasons Sayan is a tranquil retreat tucked away amongst the lush jungle greenery on the banks of the Ayung River, that flows through a river valley in the heart of Ubud. Arriving at tree-level, you make your way across a wooden footbridge to the huge circular lotus pond that seems to float, suspended above the canopy.
You make your way down to the lobby and are immediately confronted with the arresting views of the lush valley and surrounding working rice paddies. The 60 rooms and suites are dotted amongst the grounds, built from local timber and thatched Alang-Alang roofs. Rooms vary from Suite for two tucked in the jungle to the capacious Two Bedroom River View Villas or the Royal Villa, with incredible views of the tumbling Ayung River and lush green surrounds.
The Balinese-style spa is the perfect escape after a long day of exploring the volcanoes and jungle that surround you, particularly special is the traditional Balinese massage.
