Built in 1986, the Gyantze Hotel has been offering a comfortable place to stay for visitors to this historic town for over 30 years. With a prime position in the town, you are within walking distance of some of the fascinating sights of Gyantze, including the mighty Gyantse Dzong fortress. Rooms are simple, decorated in either the western or Tibetan style, with the latter boasting colorful fabrics and brightly painted murals on the walls. The hotel’s 3 restaurants serve dishes from Tibet, China and Nepal, allowing you to sample flavors from across the Himalayas. There is also an on-site coffee shop to relax in after a day of exploration, perhaps visiting the Buddhist stupa of Gyantze Kumbum that resides next to the 15th century Palcho Monastery.
