This itinerary is centerd around spending quality time together as a family. With comfortable family-friendly hotels as your base, you’ll dive into fun activities, seeing the sights of Argentina and learning new skills.

  1. Fly to Buenos Aires

Flying with kids is an adventure in itself as the excitement really starts to build for the vacation. Board the plane and travel to Buenos Aires. With the on-flight entertainment powered up and plenty of snacks to hand, you’ll be touching down in Argentina’s buzzing capital before you know it.

  2. Days 1-4: Buenos Aires

Welcome to Buenos Aires. The city has an irrepressible energy and there is no shortage of activities to keep the kids amused. On arrival, transfer to the city's most elegant and historic neighborhood, Recoleta, and check into the hotel with the city's best pool. Located in the heart of town, you’re just moments from some of the city’s main attractions, traditional cafes, and best restaurants. We’ve handpicked some of our favorite experiences to inject your stay with endless fun every corner you turn. Explore the city’s dynamic neighborhoods with our expert guide, who will unlock a hidden side to some of the most famous sights with fascinating secrets and stories. From here, head out to the leafy suburb of San Isidro where you’ll learn to cook your own empanadas in the home of a local chef. Kneading the dough and packing up the little parcels with the meaty fillings is excellent work for small hands, and the chance to interact with a local family makes for a really enriching experience. On another day, venture to the Tigre area on the outskirts of the city to embark on a three-hour boat trip on the Parana Delta. Navigate the labyrinthine streams that meander between little islands and enjoy a unique insight into the way of life on the water.

Accommodation: Palacio Duhau - Park Hyatt Buenos Aires (3 nights)

  3. Days 4-8: Bariloche & the Lake District

From the feverish excitement of Buenos Aires to the real-life adventure playground that is the Lake District, your adventure continues. Fly to Bariloche where you’ll spend four nights at the luxurious yet effortlessly comfortable Llao Llao Resort, with its charming log cabin styling. An utterly panoramic region of vivacious lakes, native forest and endless rugged trails on which to get lost – not to mention it’s the chocolate capital of Argentina – the Lake district was made for family fun. Our expert local guide will bring the area to life for you on a private tour which can be curated to match your preferences (how does a private chocolate tasting take your fancy?). Taking the cable car to the top of Campanario Hill is always popular with children of any age – the journey is more than half the fun but the views from the top promise to bewitch too. There’s no better way to appreciate the scale of this natural paradise. Other highlights include hiking woodland trails searching for creatures great and small, from insects and birds to bouncing deer.

Accommodation: Llao Llao Hotel & Resort (4 nights)

  4. Days 8-10: Visit The Pampas

Today you fly back to Buenos Aires, where you will be met and transferred just outside of the city to spend your last couple of nights at Estancia La Bandada. Located on a 200-hectare working ranch among the sprawling grasslands of the Pampas, the kids will have lots of freedom to explore. There are ample trails to traverse on foot or you can borrow a few of the estancia’s bikes and discover this rugged region on two wheels. If you’re feeling adventurous, this is also prime horseriding country. Horses are an important part of life on the ranch and there are a number of well-trained and easy-going horses that guests can take out for a ride whether they have previous experience or not. Saddle up and enjoy a unique perspective on the rugged Argentinean countryside. The estancia is also a birding paradise and La Bandada have put together a brilliant self-guided program that makes for the perfect family activity. Grab the binoculars and birding guide and head down to the lagoon to tick off a myriad of species, from hummingbirds to herons and everything in between. Your little adventurers will be transformed into professional birdwatchers and you’ll be amazed at how many different birds you can identify, and at how competitive it can get!

Accommodation: Estancia La Bandada (2 nights)

Your escapades come to an end as you travel back to Buenos Aires to fly home. While it’s adios  for now, we’re sure you’ll be back one day to relive all the memories you’ve made.
