Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

The west coast of Thailand has a tropical climate and the driest months to visit are December to March. November and April are also good months to visit and you may get some rain, although it is outside of the monsoon season. May to October is the monsoon with downpours occurring once or twice a day, rather than constant rain.

Itinerary

This super relaxing two-centre holiday combines stunning palm-fringed beaches with photogenic turquoise waters perfect for swimming and snorkelling, as well as dramatic scenery and unforgettable sunsets. Enjoy amazing romantic dining experiences and retire to your luxuriously appointed boudoir for a dip in your private pool under the stars.

  1. Days 1-5: Phuket

Your beach escape begins on the sunny shores of Phuket Island, South West Thailand. Within 20-minutes of clearing customs you’ll already be enjoying a cool-scented face towel and a refreshing cocktail, whilst checking-in at your secluded coastal retreat. It won’t be much longer before you are slipping into your beautifully tiled private pool, ordering-in a sharing platter of spicy nibbles, reclining on the poolside loungers with a good book and letting the afternoon breeze wash over you!

Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas lies on the northern tip of Phuket, with only a small handful of resorts in the area, the long golden sands fringed by lush national park, feel wonderfully secluded. The hotel's individual pool villas are set just back from the beach, dotted around a gorgeous lily-padded lagoon, ensuring plenty of privacy. The décor is inspired by traditional Thai design with a chic modern twist, with spacious indoor and outdoor areas. There are four on-site eateries offering gourmet dining and several cool bars at which to enjoy cocktails. Head up to our favourite spot, the Tree House, for sunset drinks and tapas dishes or enjoy a romantic candlelit dinner on the beach.

At some stage you’ll want to tear yourself away from the comfort of your own villa, and the lovely beachfront infinity pool is just the place to enjoy sea views. there’s an excellent spa where you can experience an extensive menu of treatments and massages. For the fitness conscious there is a wellness centre where you can book a personal trainer session or join daily classes, you can even try your hand at Muay Thai boxing. Hop on a bicycle to explore the surrounding area or take to the water and enjoy non-motorised water-sports, including windsurfing, kayaking and sailing

Accommodation: Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas (4 nights)

  2. Days 5-9: Koh Yao Noi

After four nights on the island of Phuket, it’s time for a change of scenery. Less than 30-minutes by road takes you to the Ao Po Marina, before a 45-minute speedboat ride across the glittering sea of Phang Nga Bay, where you’ll find the unashamedly paradisiacal Six Senses Yao Noi. Often referred to as one of Thailand’s most beautiful areas, it's characterised by limestone cliffs and jagged rock formations protruding from the shimmering waters, along with mangrove forests and small islands. The most famous amongst these islands is Koh Tapu, known as James Bond Island after its appearance in the film Man with the Golden Gun.

Located on a tiny island between the iconic limestone formations, the Six Senses Yao Noi is a private boutique resort and firm Scott Dunn favourite. We challenge you not to fall in love with the laidback and tranquil atmosphere, largely geared towards couples. The delightful villas are perched on the cliff edge in order to show off the amazing vistas and each comes with its own pool and butler, guaranteeing you maximum privacy and first-class service.

When you begin to tire of the views from your sun lounger and fancy giving your friendly barman a break, there are plenty of fun ways to pass the time. Go kayaking or take a boat tour around uninhabited islands and its pristine waters, or dive below the surface to discover a technicoloured marine paradise. There are easy walks around the colourful mangroves where you might spot playful monkeys or one of the resident giant monitor lizards, who look intimidating but are completely harmless. Take a bike out to explore some of the island’s secret spots, passing local villages and grazing water buffalo, in search of a remote picnic spot. Learn to cook your favourite Thai dishes with the help of a private chef or give them full control whilst you enjoy the wine pairing experience.

At the end of the day it’s your holiday, so if all you want to do is relax, work on your tan and be pampered at the indulgent spa, we won’t judge you!

Make the most of your final time here, enjoy a leisurely breakfast and a final dip in the pool, before waving goodbye to the beach and travelling back to the airport to check in for your flight home.
