The interior design of Shiretoko Grand Kitakobushi honours the rich heritage of the northeast tip of Hokkaido, with the use of rustic timbers and local stone, a lobby shrine and reception desk finished in traditional washi-style paper decorated with ocean waves and marine life. This large resort is a good base for whale watching, ice floating and bear viewing and offers a range of both Western and Japanese-style rooms, some with private onsen.
Standard rooms at the hotel are compact but do include a seating area and en-suite bathroom. Amenities include air-conditioning, heating, LCD TV, fridge, kettle and safe. Guests can also choose from Western-style rooms, some of which include ocean views, private onsen, cosy seating area with fireplace and rocking chair or Japanese-style rooms with tatami furniture, futon beds and the option for a private onsen. In addition, there are 24 Okhotsk Club rooms authentically furnished with rustic materials, dark woods and deer horn art.
