Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

It is very difficult to predict the weather in the United Kingdom - in the summer from May to late September is generally seen as the most pleasant time to visit. Rainfall is difficult to predict - but the UK does not receive as much as many are led to believe! In the winters, temperatures do fall, but there is nothing better than finding a remote pub with a roaring fire to sit beside after a long walk in the country.

Spread across four Georgian townhouses, the award-winning Queensberry Hotel offers chic and stylish décor, superb dining, gracious drawing room, pretty courtyard garden and a relaxed and informal ambience in a quiet and upmarket area of central Bath.

Originally owned by the 8th Marquess of Queensberry, this beautiful Georgian building effortlessly combines gracious period features including sash windows and marble fireplaces with contemporary style and modern amenities. Each of the 29 guest rooms has been individually designed and furnished in a sophisticated palette of muted creams, browns and greys, with complementary bold pops of color radiating from the soft furnishings and modern art. The overall impression is a stylish home from home that feels both cosy and indulgent. Run by a friendly and hospitable team, the hotel is located in a quiet residential area, but is just a five-minute walk from the Royal Crescent, Assembly Rooms and Circus and makes an excellent base for exploring the many historic delights of Bath.

Each of the 29 rooms differs in size and décor. Entry level Classic Rooms are small doubles with en-suite bathroom with shower only or upgrade for more space, sofa seating area and room for a rollaway. The Junior Suites started life as Georgian drawing rooms and have wonderful floor-to-ceiling windows, decorative fireplace and high ceilings, while the Four Poster Suite has a seven-foot bed and overlooks Russell Square.

A highlight of the property is the 3AA rosette Olive Tree Restaurant under the inspired leadership of Michelin Star trained and award-winning chef, Chris Cleghorn. Offering informal fine dining, the food is creative and accomplished using fresh seasonal and local produce where possible. There is also an excellent wine cellar and the wonderful Old Q Bar is a great place to relax with a drink and a snack.

Guests can enjoy relaxing in the lovely drawing room or pretty courtyard garden and the hotel also offers valet parking. This unique boutique hotel is a real favorite and a wonderful base for exploring the beautiful city of Bath.
