The best time to visit Chiang Mai is between October and April. The monsoon season traditionally begins in May and lasts through to October, with July to September usually being the time of heaviest rain. The hottest month is April, when temperatures can hit the 40s. The cooler months of November to January will be a good time to travel if you don't like the heat, with the average day temperature slightly below 30°C.

Children of all ages are very welcome to come and stay at Tamarind Village but there are no specific facilities available for them.
Ruen Tamarind is the only restaurant at the hotel but it is excellent, and serves a mix of both local Thai dishes and international cuisine. There is a good sized pool for guests' exclusive use as well as The Tamarind Spa where you can indulge with a number of treatments.
Within the hotel enjoy the pool and spa after exploring the city. The hotel has a number of activities available from temple visits to rock climbing and even rafting. Throughout the year you might encounter some lively festivals which take place in the city, most notably the beautiful candle floating festival Loy Kratong.
