To start planning your vacation to Peninsula Bangkok
The Peninsula Bangkok is a luxury hotel of unmatched classical grandeur set on Bangkok's majestic riverside. With every room boasting magnificent river views, it offers an unrivalled panorama across this vibrant city.
The Peninsula Bangkok has a prime location on the banks of Bangkok’s Chao Phraya River. Its unique wave shaped design not only makes it a distinct architectural addition to the Bangkok skyline, but enables all rooms to have uninterrupted views of the river below. All the rooms at the hotel are amongst the largest in Bangkok and are not only designed with timeless elegance but have pioneering guest room technology installed to keep them bang up to date. Rooms range from deluxe to those with balconies to opulent suites with panoramic terraces and outdoor Jacuzzis and each floor of the hotel has a butler ready to attend to guests' needs.
The Peninsula's numerous and varied restaurants and bars span the globe in terms of cuisine and even in a short stay at the hotel you can sample Thai home style cooking, authentic Cantonese dishes and International dishes, all served with The Peninsula's impeccable service and accompanied by Bangkok's stunning views.
The Peninsula Spa is a tranquil respite from the buzzing city and here you can enjoy indulgent relaxation therapies, holistic massages and fabulous opulent facilities. The hotel's two tennis courts, state of the art gym and outdoor pool overlooking the river complement the spa's facilities and for those wanting a temporary recluse from the mayhem of Bangkok, the Peninsula is a true sanctuary.

The Peninsula Bangkok is also accessed by way of a small boat that crosses the river, and also has easy access to shopping areas and the city's major tourist attractions, either by sky train or by taking a boat along the river. Attractions include the Grand Palace, Chinatown, the floating market and numerous fascinating temples. Bangkok is a modern and fast changing city and as well as some of its ancient and historical sites the newer shopping districts and fashionable bars and restaurants are also well worth a visit.

With only ten rooms and two suites per floor, the hotel guarantees peace and tranquillity and the feel of a boutique hotel. |The Thia Suite||
One of the most requested suites, this is a unique blend of contemporary Bangkok and traditional Thai Siam. The beautiful wood detailing on the floors, walls and ceilings are a reminder of the talent of bygone craftsmen. A traditional Thai Sala or eating area creates an appetising dinning experience. While reclining against the decorative Thai silk triangular pillows and eating a sumptuous feast you can gaze out at the twinkling night-lights of exciting Bangkok. The Peninsula Academy offers an a la carte program to allow guests to experience the best of Thai culture including cuisine, arts and crafts, dance and massage.
Peninsula Bangkok guests have access to the Thai Country Club which has extensive golf facilities. Other activities within the hotel include tennis, spa and fitness facilities.
Bangkok is full of places to explore - the Grand Palace with the famous emerald Buddha, endless markets, bustling china town and modern shopping malls. One of the best ways to discover the city is by longtail boat, use the river and the khlongs (canals) to get from one place to the other. This way you can avoid the traffic and see Bangkok from the river, a much more wholly experience.
The concierge service at The Peninsula will of course help you to plan your day if you haven't already booked excursions. They have their own jetty so boats can come and pick you up directly.

The Peninsula is a smart and impressive luxury hotel that maintains a high bar of professionalism. Tastefully appointed, well designed, and crisply run, this place leaves little to be desired. The energy of being in a vast cosmopolitan environment is present, but it still allows for a charming respite. With a staff would be hard pressed to be even slightly more professional or attentive, it stands as one of the best choices in Bangkok!

The Peninsula Bangkok is one of the leading lights in Bangkok, and with good reason. It has the perfect location being right on Chao Phraya River which is fantastic for getting around especially as the traffic on the roads can be slow. The rooms are spacious and afford great views of this sprawling city and the beds are divine especially after a long flight! It really is a fantastically well polished hotel with true class and individual style. If it's your first time in Bangkok it's the best place to stay while getting to know this colorful city.

The Peninsula is perfectly located right on the river with amazing views over the city from every room. The rooms are luxurious and there's plenty of facilities which makes for a perfect place to relax after a long journey or busy trips around the city.

The peninsula has a fabulous pool area, its hard to believe you are in the middle of Bangkok when lying in the shaded Salas. What is excellent is that you are a one minute boat ride from the infamous Mandarin Oriental. There is no question about it, you are right in the heart of the action with the best views of the City.

The Peninsula really does have a feel of a proper city hotel with the benefit of delightful grounds. The high rise building offering what can only be described as the best river views in the city means you could spend hours watching the busy going ons of the river from your room. Book a balcony room for the optimal viewing spot. Rooms are welcoming with their green, cream and golden tones and marble bathrooms and plenty of space. I loved tucking into their delicious breakfast buffet down by the river with a bit of a breeze in the morning, it was a great way to start the day before exploring the city.

Staying at The Peninsula Bangkok makes you really feel that you are right in the heart of all the action. Even from the swimming pool you feel that you experiencing all the hustle and bustle of the city with people coming and going on the river. It really is the perfect mix of every creature comfort you can imagine and feeling that you are still experiencing the real Bangkok at its best.

The Peninsula is one of those places that you visit and always wish you had more time in. Arriving up the long drive (or onto the rooftop helipad if you fancy), the hotel towers in front of you and makes a big impression instantly. The property is incredibly well thought through, ensuring that every room has a breath-taking view over the Chao Phraya River and city behind it. At night this view comes alive with the sparkling city lights making a captivating back-drop. There are 4 restaurants from where you can dine and soak up the atmosphere of the city before you. My personal favorite is the Thai Restaurant, which for those who have just arrived into Thailand, is the perfect place to enjoy a superb selection of local delicacies on the waters edge.
It is well worth requesting a room on a higher floor as the views get more and more spectacular (although the price jumps up above the 23rd floor). For those who are wanting more space there are a number of stunning suites (2 on every floor). The facilities here are fantastic, with a stunning three tiered swimming pool, huge spa, plus a sauna & steam room for men and women. And when you want to escape the hotels clasp, the city center is just a quick boat journey across the river, where there is so much to enjoy.
At the three-tiered swimming pool -- my favorite in Bangkok, with peak-roofed, wooden lounging cabanas that have ceiling fans and Thai murals -- an attendant asked whether I wanted the sun or shade and how long I planned to stay. Then he chose a chaise positioned according to my preferences, factoring in the changing angle of the sun.

I thought the highlight of the Peninsula is its location right on the banks of the Chao Phraya River and the hotel does everything they can to make the most of this amazing spot. In the morning, make time for a leisurely breakfast at the River Cafe where you can enjoy fantastic croissants and fresh black coffee whilst watching the junk boats, converted rice barges and modern speedboats passing by. After a day out and about, come back to the Peninsula for some time by their beautiful pool. The riverside location of this pool is pretty special and it is surrounded by picturesque salas for relaxing in, making it by far my favorite pool in the city. Book a table at Thiptara, their other riverside restaurant for a delicious Thai dinner and watch the riverlife change from day to night as more and more tourist dinner cruises come past with their twinkling lights and cheesy music. During dinner I remember thinking that somehow, I do not envy them and would rather be where I am in the Peninsula, rather than just cruising past!
Lying just 70km north of the Thai capital Bangkok, Ayutthaya is often overlooked by tourists. Full of old crumbling temples this is a wonderful experience uncovering hidden Thailand and a little more off the regular tourist trail.
