Flaming Cliffs

In the late afternoon, visit the famous ‘Flaming Cliffs’ of the Gobi Desert, a dramatic landscape of rugged rocks that glow in the light of the sinking sun. Also renowned for its paleontological significance, it was here in 1922 that Dr. Roy Chapman Andrews from the American Museum of Natural History found the first fossilised nest of dinosaur eggs. Paleontological expeditions continue to unearth incredible finds, with velociraptor remains recently being discovered nearby.
