The rainy season on the Kenyan Coast is generally during May and June. So from July onward the weather is gradually getting hotter and dryer until March/April when it reaches the high 90's (over 40 degrees C). Christmas/New Year is generally considered the peak season and the weather is lovely then with constant sunshine and gentle off shore breezes. If you want clear seas for diving then make your trip after August/Sept.

Ocean Spa Lodge is perfectly placed on the southern Kenya coast. It is completely relaxing and the swimming pool is a great way to cool off in the heat of the day. The rooms are very spacious and equipped with air conditioning. During my stay, I loved hanging out on my own private veranda which has a bed swing, tables and chairs. They also have wonderful coastal cuisine along with superb service and are accommodating to any food preferences. The beach is kept very beautiful and they offer many activities to do during your stay. They have a very large pool along with a separate children's pool which is great for families with small children. The location in Msambweni is away from the busier area of Diani which offers a quieter experience. Ocean Spa Lodge is wonderful for all types of people including families, couples, honeymooners and anyone else. The property is big enough where everyone has privacy and can enjoy ultimate relaxation.

There is a large focus on health and well being with a spa with views out to the sea and free use of its many hydrotherapy pools, they also offer yoga lessons, pilates and bootcamp whenever you would like with great instructors on site at no extra cost. For families the larger villas are perfect and the relaxed atmosphere and large pool is perfect for kids to really enjoy themselves whilst adults can relax. The food and service here are great, with a big emphasis on fresh, healthy food eaten in varying locations around the hotel its a thoroughly enjoyable place to spend a few days relaxing.

There is only one other hotel on this beach which is located at the other end of the beach, the rest of the beach is all private villas so the beach isn't busy and is really untouched.
