Perched on the banks of the Shinano River, the largest and longest river in Japan, Okura Niigata is a classic city hotel with a fantastic location at the heart of the city. Built at the foot of the Bandai Bashi, a famous bridge that spans the mighty Shinano, the hotel is within easy walking distance of Niigata’s many restaurants and bars, and its famous sake distilleries that are numerous across the city - thanks to the city’s longstanding reputation as one of Japan’s finest rice producers.  
 
The 265 rooms and suites are spread across the hotel’s 15 floors. Simple and traditional in design, they are comfortable and functional for a stay in Niigata, with all the facilities you’d expect from a city hotel of this size. Large windows look out over the city and the en-suite bathrooms feature standalone bath tubs.  
 
Three restaurants are housed within the hotel, starting with western and local buffet menus at Tsubaki where an impressive daily breakfast is served. Enjoy local seafood from the nearby Sea of Japan at Japanese restaurant Yahiko and Cantonese delicacies at Toh-Ka-Lin. The Edinburgh Bar is known for its impressive Whiskey list, opening in the late afternoon and long into the evening.
