The climate in Puglia is generally warm sunny and dry in April/May and again in October with the risk of the odd shower of rain. Sometimes it can be cool in the evenings. By June the weather settles in a pattern of long hot sunny days and balmy evenings especially in July and August when it can get a bit humid. Rain is unlikely but it can happen from time to time. June and September are particularly pleasurable months.

Your Itinerary

Let us take you along the road less traveled on this unique trip through the heel of Italy. The delight of Lecce will wash over you with a hefty dose of culture as you get under the skin of the rich Baroque style that exudes from this region. You will be treated to exclusive palace access, cultural tours of Lecce and the surrounding villages and stunning boat trips along the dramatic coastline. With a good helping of exclusive luxury at two bijou hotels, where you can only but relax in style.

Lecce

Your Itinerary

This unique and chic tour starts with your arrival at the exclusive Palazzo Bozzi Corso. One of the most beautiful palaces in the city of Lecce, just a few steps from the Basilica of Santa Croce, it is now a highly stylish and luxurious hotel. Relax after your journey at the rooftop pool with bar and decide where you will take your first evening meal.

Feeling rested it is time to dive straight into the glory of Lecce with a private walking tour of this intricate city. Your expert guide will take you to Piazza del Duomo, which is considered as the elegant ‘living room’ of the city and one of the most beautiful squares in the whole of Italy. In the afternoon you will be spoiled with a tour at a private Leccese Palace, exclusively opened just for you. The owner, an honorary member of the Society of Homeland History for Puglia, will welcome you to his palace and take you on an exceptional and informative guided tour of his private rooms, elegant gallery and marble stairways.

After breakfast gather your sea legs and set off to meet your professional skipper at the port of Santa Cesarea where you will be taken out to discover this beautiful coastline on a private yacht. You'll be treated to a stunning trip along the coast of Salento with pretty villages, fascinating caves and time to swim in the glistening crystal clear waters – utter heaven! Your skipper will take you to Otranto where you will disembark for lunch at your leisure. After lunch, your guide will lead you to Galatina, where you'll find a magical succession of porticoes and 18th century palaces, a treasure trove of art and various architectural styles.

Apulian Coast

Your Itinerary

Leaving the wonder of Lecce behind, you will head to the unique charm and tranquillity of the Apulian coast. On the way, you'll visit the evocative Abbey of Santa Maria di Cerrate, a hidden gem far from the tourist trail. You'll continue the journey north to your hotel for the next three nights, Masseria Torre Maizza. An utterly luxurious Rocco Forte hotel, the most exclusive offering on this laid-back stretch of rural Puglian coast. Its range of facilities and award-winning beach club make it perfect for a sensational stay. Set amongst orchards and olive groves, with a rooftop bar and wonderful restaurant that overlooks the swimming pool, it's the perfect setting to cool off from the Italian heat.

Take a leisurely breakfast and morning to enjoy the first-class facilities. After your lunch, enjoy a private cooking class at a farm in the Apulian countryside. Wear your apron and get ready to become chef for a day where you will feast on your creations for dinner.

The following morning you will get to explore a traditional family-run farmhouse that produces organic mozzarella and other Apulian cheeses. Meet the exceptional owner, Mariangela, and see how mozzarella is created. Then, enjoy a light lunch with local specialties paired with divine wines. You will get to finish this sublime tour with an extraordinary private sunset boat trip. Sail along the beautifully iconic coastline of Puglia, sipping a chilled glass of Prosecco, to reach Polignano a Mare. Here, indulge in a delicious farewell seafood dinner at one of the world’s most spectacular restaurants, the Grotta Palazzese. This one-of-a-kind restaurant boasts an enchanting setting within a dramatic natural cave with the lapping waters below.  An experience that will remain with you forever and the best way to bid a fond farewell to your time in Puglia.
