The State Department has changed their advice for travelers to Italy to Level 3 (re-consider travel). If you want to go sightseeing around the island’s legendary historic and natural sites, October–November and March–June are reliably warm, with temperatures ranging from 15°C to 26°C. July and August are blessed with glorious sunshine, and average temperatures of around 28°C.

  2. Days 1-3: Sicily

    Begin your tour of Sicily in the north west of the island, in charming countryside surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. Spend two nights here at La Foresteria Planeta Estate for a relaxing start to your trip. Enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside as you unwind by the pool or borrow one of the hotel’s bikes to cycle down to the nearest beach. During your time in the area, visit Planeta’s Ulmo winery to understand the techniques behind the wine production process, learn about the history of the estate and sample some of the delicious wines.

  3. Days 3-5: Ragusa, Sicily, Italy

    Next, you’ll head to the southeast of Sicily, home to a treasure chest of delightful Baroque towns, giving the region its reputation for beautiful architecture. From your base at Eremo Della Giubiliana, explore the nearby towns of Ragusa and Modica with your private guide. Admire the striking Baroque architecture in UNESCO World Heritage Site Ragusa before discovering the ancient streets of Modica, a city renowned for its chocolate production. You’ll also have the opportunity to explore Syracuse with your guide, known for its pleasing aesthetics and fascinating history - Syracuse was settled by the Ancient Greeks and was thought to be one of the most beautiful cities of the period.

  4. Days 5-8: Taormina, Sicily, Italy

    For your last stop, continue north to Taormina, a beautiful town built on the side of Mount Tauro, offering spectacular views across the bay and towards Mount Etna, Europe's largest volcano. Spend three nights in Taormina, admiring its picturesque architecture and taking in the sweeping vistas of the sparkling Mediterranean beyond the city. Get to grips with the city during a private guided tour, wandering through Taormina’s charming streets until you reach the ancient Greek amphitheater which dates back to the third century BC.
