Average time to visit
Italy is an exciting place to visit at any time of the year, and most attractions are open all year round. The best time to visit is in May, early June, late September and October. Days during those months are usually warm, and quite long. July and August are hot and humid with many tourists. Since most Italians leave their hot cities in the summer, many restaurants are closed in the cities. Winter can get cold, particularly January but it is quiet. Temperatures are more favourable in the spring and autumn months.

Itinerary

Day 1-3

Venice, Italy

Day 1 – Arrival & Evening Adventure

Your journey begins in the City of Canals, where every ripple on the lagoon tells a story. Check into the St. Regis Venice, a haven of contemporary elegance with breathtaking views of the Grand Canal and plenty of space for families to relax. Spend the afternoon settling in whether that’s enjoying the hotel’s refined interiors or taking a gentle stroll through the lively Piazza San Marco, just moments away.

As evening falls, embark on an exclusive after-hours tour of the Doge’s Palace and St. Mark’s Basilica. With golden mosaics and grand halls to explore, children and adults alike will be captivated by the tales of Venice’s past. Conclude the evening with a private gondola ride, gliding through the canals under the stars, before returning to your Venetian retreat.

Day 2 – Immersive Venetian Discoveries

Awake to a leisurely family breakfast overlooking the water, before heading out to discover Venice at your own pace. Wander through the city’s hidden alleyways and artisan workshops, where glassblowers and mask makers share skills passed down through generations—an inspiring experience for children to witness firsthand. Pause for a relaxed lunch at a canalside osteria, where Italian favorites can be enjoyed by every age.

In the afternoon, choose between a guided art gallery visit for budding young creatives, or a boat journey to Murano and Burano, where colorful houses and glassblowing demonstrations bring Venetian heritage vividly to life. Return to the St. Regis for a family toast at sunset, before enjoying dinner together in the hotel’s acclaimed restaurant with the Grand Canal as your backdrop—a memorable finale to your Venetian adventure.
