The State Department has changed their advice for travelers to Italy to Level 3 (re-consider travel). From 8 March, the Italian authorities extended the area of isolation to cover the whole of the Lombardy region and the provinces of Modena, Parma, Piacenza, Reggio Emilia and Rimini (all in Emilia Romagna); Pesaro e Urbino (in Marche); Venezia and Padova (in Veneto); Asti and Alessandria (in Piemonte). The best time to visit the Amalfi Coast is in spring or late summer, when temperatures are pleasant and humidity levels are low. In July and August the climate is hot and humid, while the area is busy with tourists. Hotels in the Amalfi Coast tend to close for the winter, starting in October until they reopen in late March or April.

Fly to Naples
Days 1-5: Amalfi Coast
Begin your romantic escape in Praiano, an ancient fishing village turned peaceful retreat on the bustling Amalfi Coast. This tranquil town is a little off-the-beaten-track and offers respite from busier destinations such as Positano alongside its fantastic views of the coast. Enjoy blissful days revelling in the peace and quiet at your hotel, exploring the charming restaurants of Praiano or venturing in to Positano to soak up the lively atmosphere.

Days 5-7: Capri, Italy
Next, you’ll continue across the Gulf of Naples to Capri, the idyllic island known for its luxurious and glamorous feel. Explore the island and you’ll discover its breath-taking scenery, particularly the spectacular view from the summit of Monte Solaro, easily reached by chairlift. Take to the water to admire Capri from a different perspective, and on board your private boat you’ll have the chance to admire some of the island’s most picturesque spots. Spend evenings sampling mouth-watering local cuisine and enjoying sundowners with the most fantastic views.

Days 7-10: Amalfi Coast
Return to the mainland for the final stop of your journey around the Amalfi Coast and stay in the picturesque town of Ravello. Perched high on the cliffs, this charming town is known for the most incredible views of the Sorrento Peninsula and the coast below. Although lively during the day, Ravello is a peaceful retreat in the evenings, with a selection of fantastic restaurants to choose from. Spend your last few days on the Amalfi Coast exploring its charming hilltop towns, visiting lemon groves or simply relaxing and admiring the view.
