Wayanad
The emerald green foliage of the coffee plantations envelops Wayanad, while the scents of the spices drift on the fresh mountain air. Deep in the Western Ghats, Wayanad is relatively untouched by tourism, with just a handful of small guesthouses offering a peaceful place to break the journey between Mysore and Ooty or Cochin.

The lush environment of Wayanad hosts a wealth of birdlife, as well as a rich history showcased by the Neolithic carvings of the Edakkal Caves. Revealing the lives of the former inhabitants of the hills, the carvings are thought to date back thousands of years.
