Set within a lush oasis in Rajasthan’s Alwar region, just two hours east of Jaipur, Amanbagh is a sanctuary of calm amid the rugged Aravalli Hills. Once the site of the Maharajah of Alwar’s royal hunting camp, the walled estate has been reimagined by Aman as a tranquil retreat where India’s regal past meets understated contemporary luxury.
The architecture pays homage to the Mughal era, with pink sandstone colonnades, elegant domes, and serene courtyards that evoke a modern-day palace. Inside, a soothing palette of marble, sandstone, and carved wood creates a feeling of graceful simplicity.
Accommodation is divided between 22 Havelis and 15 Pool Pavilions. The Havelis sit among date and mango trees, each with a private courtyard, garden, or balcony, while the Pool Pavilions feature secluded gardens and private pools. Suites are beautifully appointed with deep marble bathtubs, Bose sound systems, and personal bars, every detail designed for comfort and calm.
Guests can unwind beside the expansive pool, indulge in holistic therapies at the Aman Spa, or relax on the rooftop terrace overlooking the countryside. Beyond the walls, the rural landscape invites exploration, ancient forts, hidden temples, and peaceful villages reveal Rajasthan’s timeless rhythm. Amanbagh also offers private dinners, yoga and meditation by the lake, and the evocative Sunset Cow Dust Tour, capturing the golden beauty of life in rural India.
