The climate in Greece is warm and sunny for the majority of the year with the risk of the odd shower of rain and some cooler periods over the winter. From April/May onwards the weather settles but it can sometimes be cool in the evenings. By mid/end of May, the weather generally settles in a pattern of long hot sunny days and balmy evenings especially in July and August when it can be very hot. Rain is unlikely but it can happen from time to time. May to October are particularly pleasurable months.

Start your odyssey in Athens, staying at one of our fabulously elegant hotels on the doorstep of the city’s stunning architecture and iconic landmarks. If you have a long list of places you’d like to visit, we can arrange private tours of the great historical landmarks. On the Acropolis, you’ll find no fewer than 21 national monuments, while a trip to the National Archaeological Museum gives you an amazing insight into the country's rich heritage. Then to soak up the Athenian culture, there’s nowhere more atmospheric to wander than through the labyrinthine streets of the Plaka district, with its fine examples of Cycladic architecture, restaurants, tavernas and shops.

From Athens it’s a three-hour drive to Costa Navarino. You can drive directly there, or stop off on the way at the remarkable ruins of Epidavros and Corinth, both important ancient Greek sites, or the impressive Corinth Canal. The Peloponnese is home to more famous sites, with Sparta and Olympia being two that will be familiar to everyone who studied the ancient Greeks at school. Set in an idyllic location surrounded by lush olive groves, vineyards and secluded coves, The Romanos is a luxury resort with stunning views across the Ionian Sea. It stretches along the beautiful and un-crowded Dunes Beach making it the perfect place to unwind and enjoy everything this part of the Peloponnese has to offer. It is an area largely untouched by mass tourism, where local communities still make their living from fishing, olive oil production and wine making. Both the location and the resort have won many awards, including the National Geographic Best 20 Locations in the World to Visit. Natural wetlands and nature reserves are a stop off for many migratory birds, including flamingos, and the local beaches surrounded by medieval castles and little villages, are a swimmer's paradise. The Romanos and its sister resort, The Westin, share fantastic facilities, with numerous restaurants, bars and shops, and extensive water sports, including stand up paddle boarding, kite surfing, kayaking and sailing. An enormous aqua park keeps children happy for hours, as well as other outdoor activities and there’s a multitude of local places of interest to visit.
