Provence enjoys a pleasant, Mediterranean climate. On average, Provence gets 300 days of sunshine each year, with warm but mild temperatures. Summer is high season here, with August bringing the hottest weather and the biggest crowds. Spring is a great time of year, the weather is warm, with temperatures swaying between 16 and 20°C, and the crowds are small. If you want to see lavender fields then it would be best to visit the region in June. In October the weather starts to cool. Fall is also the start of the wettest weeks of the year. October sees an average of 3.7 inches of rain, with an average of three inches following in November. Still, it never gets all that chilly and snow is rare. In January, the mercury rarely dips beneath the -1°C.

Set in 300 hectares of the spectacular Var countryside in the South of France, Terre Blanche offers understated luxury and exceptional service. With superb restaurants, two championship golf courses and an impressive spa, it's ideal for a relaxed break.
Terre Blanche Hotel Spa Golf Resort is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World, set in the large private estate of Domaine de Terre Blanche. Within easy reach of the beautiful Cote d'Azur, the cosmopolitan city of Nice and glamour spots of St Tropez and Antibes, it's also surrounded by historic market towns and villages, where a wander around a local market should not be missed. Perfect for a long weekend, there's also enough here to keep even the most active of families busy.
The design and layout of the estate make Terre Blanche feel more like a village than a resort and the 114 suites and villas which surround the hotel offer privacy and tranquillity. The pavilions that house the suites have been sympathetically designed with local stone and terracotta tiles so that they blend in with the Provencal landscape. The views of the mountains to the North and of the villages of Callian, Tourettes and Fayence are nothing short of spectacular and the domaine itself feels wonderfully natural. Olives, mimosas, oleanders, rosemary, lavenders, pink laurels, cypress and pine create a heady blend of scents and a multitude of sculptures enriches the natural beauty of the estate.
Whether it's gourmet dining, sport or relaxation, we love the choice on offer at Terre Blanche. A total of four restaurants offer everything from fine French gastronomy, where the food and wines are immaculately paired, to more informal and casual dining. The hotel is in a perfect location to explore the surrounding region. The local villages such as Tourettes and Callian, some perched on the cliff edges, have delightful markets, restaurants and shops and in Grasse which is famous for perfume, it is possible to create your own scent. For something closer, Le Clos de Callian, which neighbors Terre Blanche offers a great perfume and picnic experience, with specialties made with the flowers. Delicious!
A highlight for modern art lovers is the Fondation Maeght at St Paul de Vence. Equally, the beaches and spectacular coastline of the Cote d'Azur are easily accessible and the more adventurous can spend the day exploring the beautiful Gorges du Verdon or take a yacht trip, complete with lunch around the magnificent bay of Cannes.

We had an excellent stay, the service, food, location and cleanliness was fantastic.

The second you drive through the grand entrance gates of the Terre Blanche, you are immersed in sheer greenery, space and luxury. Throughout the twisting and turning pathways through the resort, you are met by an amazing range of statues, smells of lavender and smiling faces! The service is so warm and friendly from the moment you walk in until the second you have to leave at the end of your trip.
Perfect for a relaxing and activity filled family vacation, there is so much on offer. The driving range is the most remarkable that I have seen so whatever level golfer you are, you can hone your skills! There are then two quiet and beautiful golf courses that feel very secluded, it doesn't feel like you are playing in a hotel resort. The spa is to die for as well, the facilities and treatments on offer are perfect for some downtime!
I was really impressed with the children's club as well the other child friendly facilities throughout the place, from their own separate pool, children's menus and play area in the resort the younger guests are sure to have a wonderful time. Covering 300 hectares, you may not feel the need to leave the resort during your stay, but if you do there is a huge choice of excursions and places to visit in the gorgeous surrounding areas.
There is a great range of food on offer, but all at a great standard ranging from Tusco, the relaxed restaurant by the pool, perfect for a family lunch to the glamorous Faventia, the newly Michelin starred restaurant. Les Caroubiers, whilst located on the golf course, certainly should not be missed even if you aren't a keen golfer! Named after the 900 year tree just outside, the menu is just amazing with a great choice of meat, fish or vegetarian dishes, all accompanied by delicious local wine.

Terre Blanche Terre Blanche certainly exceeded all of my expectations. The first thing I noticed on arrival was how incredibly peaceful the resort was; the whole place has such a wonderfully calm feel, exactly what you want from a relaxing break away. If its a relaxing vacation youre after, the spa is certainly worth a visit (thats if you can drag yourself away from the sunshine at the outdoor pool!), but for the more active, the golfing facilities are second to none. Theres clearly a big emphasis on health care and fitness at Terre Blanche, with some extraordinary machines in the gym, all sorts of golf training methods and even simulators for bad weather days, but the vast amount of land that this resort covers means everything is so brilliantly spaced out; if youre not there for the golf, its not intrusive at all. You could easily spend your vacation here without leaving the resort, but for those who wish to explore a little further, the South of France is full of gems worth venturing out to.

Spending a weekend at Terre Blanche really enables you to relax and recharge. As an amateur golfer, it is an absolute pleasure to play on such perfect courses. I was worried about not taking my clubs but by the end of the weekend I actually thought I'd have to get a new set to match their quality.
We rented some road buggies and headed off to the market and returned via a little vineyard to sample some of the local rose and play some petanque. An absolute must.
My room was perfect - a one bedroom suite with a nice terrace overlooking the golf course and the hills. The rooms are actually a perfect size, with a sitting area definitely big enough for an extra bed and/or cot.
There are some great restaurants near by if you want to head out but also the food at the hotel really is amazing.

This is the perfect spot to spend anything from a few days to a few weeks in the South of France. The 40m pool, golf academy, tennis courts, children's club and award winning spa means that there is no need to leave the resort if you don't want to. But alternatively there is plenty to explore in the local area including traditional hillside villages such as Fayance, the renowned Grasse full of perfumeries or the glitz and glamour of Cannes.
The rooms have something for everyone - suites, villas and connecting options - and the children's club in free of charge running daily and including buffet meals for under 8s. There is a separate children's pool so if you have nervous swimmers they can practice away from the main pool.

The Terre Blanche offers everything, from a relaxing by the pool or in the Spa in the morning, dinning in on of the fantastic restaurants on site for lunch, a round or two of golf in the afternoon followed by picking the children up from the children's club and a trip to one of the artisan villages for an evening of cultural delights.
A resort in a truly beautiful and authentic area of France. The Terre Blanche will ensure a week of relaxation, culture and luxury!
Bridget Dolan (Staff)
Terre Blanche is equally brilliant for families and couples alike. The hotel is perfectly located to explore the beautiful countryside of Provence but you are within reach of the glitz of the coast if you fancy spending a day exploring the Cote d'Azur!
Within the resort itself there is so much to do, from relaxing in the spa to golf or tennis. Children are incredibly well looked after in their well equipped club (pool, indoor and outdoor soft play areas, ball pit, Lego room etc) allowing you to really take a break and enjoy some time to yourself.
The food was fantastic as well, the buffet breakfast was one of the most delicious I've ever tasted and there's a good selection of different dining options. It isn't always the cheapest as you'd expect from a 5* resort, but it is great quality and well worth it.
Bridget Dolan (Staff)
The unique highlight about staying at Terre Blanche is that guests can easily spend their time lying by the pool relaxing and enjoying the luxuries within the resort, but for the culture vultures there is also an array of areas to explore. Only half an hours drive away is the village of Grasse where you can learn to create your very own perfume. Also on the doorstop is the Picasso Museum in Antibes where there is a remarkable collection of pieces, or why not head to one of many vineyards for an afternoon's wine tasting.

I would highly recommend a stay here for families, couples, corporate hospitality groups alike, as there is something for everyone. The atmosphere is grown up and smart but without being stuffy and overbearing. The golf course, kids' club, the beautiful villages of Fayence, Callian and the beaches of Sainte Maxime or St Tropez, all make this such a great escape any time from mid-April through to late September.
Victoria Douglas (Staff)
The suites are all set around winding pathways with some more private than others. Our suite was particularly private with a beautiful view across to the nearby village of Callian and its castle. There is also a great local restaurant here with breathtaking views.
Inside the suites it is very suited to families, with a sofa bed in the living area that can be folded down at night and is big enough to accommodate taller teenagers too. There is a door that slides shut between the living room and the bedroom which blocks out a lot of noise, so much so we were oblivious to our 2 year old daughter exploring the living room amenities at 7am!
The children's club here is fantastic - very modern with a heated swimming pool. The main resort pool is divine with beautiful private cabanas that can be rented and the views from here are stunning, whilst gorgeous scents drift across from the al fresco Mediterranean restaurant.
