Journey to The Hidden Valley Resort, the first glamping boutique resort in Shangri-la, Yunnan. The 7-hectare resort sits on sprawling meadows surrounded by majestic mountains. It unravels the beauty of the Himalayas, offering a unique travel experience at 3,300 meters above sea level – and is just 20 minutes from the Diqing Shangri-la Airport. Its strategic location also allows guest to access the Old Town within 20 minutes and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Napa Lake in less than an hour.
Built by the hands of local villagers, the resort provides jobs and incomes to further uplift the standards of living in Shangri-La. Farm-to-table ingredients and resources are sourced from Bisong Village and its surrounding neighborhoods, with staffs hired from the surrounding communities, providing a unique Tibetan flavor.
Guests can opt to stay in Tented Villas or the Tibetan Residence.
The Tented Villas are designed to resemble Tibetan nomadic tents, offering a truly unique glamping experience. Each tented villa is fully fitted with a king sized heated bed, wood fire stove, and heated bathroom. Each luxurious Tented Villa features a king sized bed with heated mattress, fully heated bathroom, bathtub to soak in, and comfortable furniture. A fireplace keeps the tent cozy at night, ensuring you are comfortable while enjoying a unique glamping adventure. Double doors open onto the meadow and adjacent pond and streams.
The Tibetan Residence was built from a 150-year-old traditional Tibetan home that once belonged to a village head, refurbished to the highest standards. None of the 10 rooms are alike. Spacious living areas blend rustic old-world charm with contemporary design. Enjoy communal areas such as the great hall, central hearth, cozy lounging nooks and patio seating.
Using fresh, locally sourced ingredients and vegetables from the resort’s own organic garden, the resort’s dishes are expertly curated to celebrate the flavors of Shangri-la. The menu is seasonal and fresh, as Shangri-La is blessed with a multitude of seasonal vegetables, wild mushrooms and meats. The dining area features floor-to-ceiling windows and stunning mountain views. An open-concept kitchen and communal dining table (seats 20) ensure a relaxed and friendly dining experience. By request only, we can also help with a private dining room (seats 10) providing a warm and intimate setting.
At Qingke Library & Bar, the resort offers a selection of local qingke liquors and the famous Black Yak Beer from the local Shangri-La Beer Company, which had won several international awards and are brewed using local highland barley and the purest water.
In-resort activities include horseback-riding on Tibetan ponies, oil painting, stargazing, and relaxing by the bonfire at dusk
