Best time to Visit
Good time to visit
Average time to visit
Shanghai and eastern China’s subtropical climate brings with it four distinct seasons. The weather is generally mild and temperate, with a great deal of rainfall even in the drier months of the year. The frequent monsoon showers and scorching temperatures of June, July and August can make it uncomfortably humid, with the mercury regularly rising over 35°C. Winter is overcast and chilly, although snow seldom falls in this eastern region of China. Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the best times to visit Shanghai and eastern China, with pleasant temperatures and fewer tourists.

Description
Amanyangyun is a peaceful sanctuary in the outskirts of Shanghai and the latest masterpiece from Aman hotels. Opening in early 2018, it is set to deliver a unique luxury experience which combines a celebration of both ancient architecture and nature.
Possibly Aman's most ambitious project to date and a restoration that took over seven years to complete, Amanyangyun sits on the outskirts of the bright lights of Shanghai. Here celebrate nature and expand the mind with ancient Chinese traditions. Meaning 'nourishing cloud', Amanyangyun is a vision of beauty, designed to match its natural setting.
The restoration of Amanyangyun itself involved the transportation of ancient dwellings under threat from demolition. From the remote Jiangxi province to the outskirts of Shanghai dozens of village houses were transported along with 10,000 camphor trees and given a new lease of life. What remains now is a flourishing forest of glossy green camphor trees which makes for a whimsical backdrop to this five star resort, a living monument of human history.
The accommodation at Amanyangyun includes 13 four-bedroom villas made from the restored Ming and Qing Dynasty houses together with 24 contemporary one-bedroom suites. Each room and villa has an earthy palette in true chic and understated Aman style. The remaining historic homes and a number of new builds make up 30 refined Aman Residences.
Outside the comfort of your villa or suite, there are six dining options available, each using fresh local produce and authentic flavors. The Aman Spa offers a indulgence into holistic health, fitness and wellbeing. Including 10 treatment rooms, a hydrotherapy suite, private hammam, Russian banya, and specialized area for reflexology, you can ease away any aches and pains. Elsewhere, try Tai Chi or a Chinese martial art class, offered along with yoga and Pilates overlooking a beautiful reflection pond.
Like the other Aman resorts in China, Amanyangyun has a timeless appeal which draws on the culture, history and natural wonders of this breathtaking country. A stay at Amanyangyun is truly unique.
