Description

Zero Hotel is a beautiful old house in the UNESCO world heritage town of Valparaiso with great views out to the bay. The traditional house has been refurbished in an elegant modern style with nine spacious, well-appointed guest rooms.

Zero Hotel is a lovingly restored old house in Valparaiso’s Cerro Alegre that has a fresh contemporary feel while still maintaining a home-from-home appeal. Set high up on the hillside, Zero is ideally located for wandering around the city’s multi-colored streets or simply relaxing by the terraced pool and lounging area that look magnificently out to the bay and the Pacific beyond. The hotel has just nine well-appointed guest rooms with extremely high ceilings and tall doors. They are mostly spacious (two are quite small) with comfortable beds and the most luxurious linens and towels. The blend of traditional and modern is well judged, and there are lovely original features as well as a flat screen TV and Wi-Fi connection.

Delicious breakfasts are served in the winter garden which has panoramic views of Valparaiso Bay, and guests can help themselves to drinks at the honesty bar. There is an outdoor Jacuzzi and complimentary yoga sessions on the terraces during Spring and Summer. Reiki and reflexology can also be arranged on request.

Zero is an excellent base for exploring the historic city of Valparaiso, with its cobbled streets, brightly painted houses, historic mansions and hillside funiculars. The streets around the hotel which come to life during the day and have a laid-back, bohemian vibe, and it’s worth checking out the cool murals in the Museo al Cielo Abierto (Open Air Museum) and the local market stalls. Visits can easily also be made to Vina de Mar for some beach relaxation, along the coast to Isla Negra to see the house of Chile's most famous poet, Pablo Neruda, and inland to discover some of the wonderful wines of the San Antonio Valley.
