Every meal during your stay at Tierra will be one to remember, whether it is in the hotel restaurant or a picnic mid hike in the moon valley you will be treated to fresh, local ingredients.
Tierra Atacama was created by the Purcell family, long time owners and operators of Chile's Portillo Ski Resort and Hotel, famed in Chile for its excellent skiing, food and warm hospitality. Tierra Atacama follows the same ethos as Portillo, providing guest experiences combining options for adventure and activities with a high level of comfort and service. Guests at Tierra Atacama can venture out during the day (if they so wish!) knowing they can be pampered in a relaxing haven on their return.
The guest rooms at Tierra Atacama all have private terraces and all have views of the Licancabur volcano, with the exception of the Family Rooms, which overlook the gardens. Much thought has been given to the interior decoration, with many of the materials sourced locally to reflect the local culture. Cow hides, hand made textiles and crafts have been used to furnish both the guest rooms and general areas, decorated in a neo-minimal style with elegant woods and subtle chocolate and sand tones.
Arguably one of the highlights at Tierra Atacama is the indulgent spa, with steam bath, Jacuzzi, Turkish bath and a wide variety of rejuvenating massages, facials, body wraps, scrubs and alternative therapies on offer. There is also an indoor heated pool with water jets and an outdoor pools with luxuriant chaise longues, perfect for relaxing with a book.
In addition to all the excellent services at the hotel, guests at Tierra Atacama can also partake in a variety of excursions in the surrounding Atacama region, from bird watching, wildlife tours, stargazing, walks through salt caves to dune surfing and volcano climbing.
When to visit
After a morning's adventure exploring one of the highlights of the surrounding Atacama, the outdoor pool with its breathtaking view of Licancabur Volcano is the perfect spot to unwind.
