Your family adventure begins as you are flown by light aircraft from Maun into the vast moonscape of the Makgadikgadi Pans. Here you will enjoy a wealth of exciting activities which the whole family will enjoy. Spend the next three days exploring the wonders of the salt pans by quad bike or even by horse-back on a two-hour excursion. The landscape here couldn't be more different to the earlier parts of your safari, and the wildlife is too. Spend time with a meerkat colony (who may climb on your head to use you as a vantage point), ride to the vast upside-down-shaped Chapman's baobab tree, visited by early explorers including Livingstone, and learn about the hunter gatherer Zu'hoasi people, a relation of the San bushmen. End each evening under a canopy of sparkling stars across the clear night sky.

Your journey concludes in Zimbabwe at the spectacular Victoria Falls. Stay outside of Victoria Falls town for a tranquil stay along the banks of the Zambezi river. Here you are close enough to head into the Falls to experience the true force of the water, as well as being in a slightly more peaceful area to enjoy lazy afternoons if you wish. During your three nights stay we also recommend you head out on a game vehicle for a safari in Zambezi National Park where you could find elephants eating in the bush and lions stretching out for an afternoon sleep. If you haven’t had your fill of water-based activities, you can get back out on the water on a boat cruise or in a canoe to see game from a completely different angle. We think this is the perfect way to round off an action-packed safari vacation.

Botswana's summer months (November to April) can be hot and humid and there is a chance of rain. Botswana has one rainy season which runs between mid-December and runs through to mid-March.
