Offering warm temperatures throughout the year the Caribbean is a perfect year round destination. With an average of 9 hours sunshine a day the peak season runs from December through to April which is the dry season when you can expect very little rainfall. May to November are the slightly wetter months where you will find an increase in rainfall as the summer season goes on and with that some humidity, however the Summer months are still a great time to travel as the temperatures are hot and the rain tends to come in short heavy bursts but not all day long. The wettest months with the most humidity are September and October and these are the most probable months for hurricanes to occur in the region although many islands have not experienced hurricanes for a number of years. The average daily temperatures range from the mid-seventies in the winter months and mid-eighties in the summertime.

The atmosphere here was so laid back, with the "ambassadors" taking on different roles - one day a barman , the next a beach attendant, offering a really friendly and personal service. Don't expect organized programs of activities or endless facilities but if you are looking for a laid back vibe and intimate crowd on a gorgeous beach then this is the place to stay.

The House is a fun place to stay if you are looking for 'adult-only' surroundings. I loved its very laidback approach and the fact that you have an Ambassador to look after you throughout your stay.
The main part of the hotel is open plan with big white sofas surrounding a large coffee table where you can sit and read a book or play a game of chess. This area leads out onto the deck where a champagne breakfast is served each morning to start the day as you mean to go on!
Views from the deck are amazing as you look out over the pristine white sand and turquoise sea contemplating your day's activities. Watersports are available from the sister hotel Tamarind next door so you don't have far to go to get your Hobie cat.
One of the highlights of The House is its close proximity to the oceanfront restaurant Daphne's. The food here is described as being modern Italian with island seafood, the lobster linguine was pretty amazing!
The House is closing mid August 2017 for a few weeks while it undergoes quite a large refurbishment of its communal areas and the introduction of a new spa.

The House is an unusual concept and makes for a unique stay in Barbados. Based loosely on a house party feel, it is a great option for couples who are on the island to enjoy the restaurants and the social aspect yet still have a little away from it all oasis.
The main lounge is full of comfy white sofas which were well occupied on the day of my stay by guests lazily reading the papers, playing chess and enjoying tea and cake. There is a small restaurant to one side of the lounge which offers the signature champagne breakfast as well as light lunches and dinners. Daphnes Restaurant, one of the most popular on the island, is right next door as well.
The accommodation here is comfortable but not the most up to date in furnishings or dcor, although there are plans for soft refurbishment imminently. However, the junior suites are spacious and have covered terraces, many of which look out on to the gardens and white sand beach. Every guest has their own private Ambassador who will look after you during your stay, which is a nice touch.
There is a small pool and terraces with a beach bar, and the beach in front is very nice as well.
This is a relaxed and chilled out hotel, perfect for groups of friends or couples who will like the trendy vibe. Dont expect absolute luxury and you wont be disappointed.
