The Bulawayo Club is found in the heart of Bulawayo, Zimbabwe's historic second city. Originating as a Gentleman’s Club, in a tradition which flourished during the Age of Empire, the Club has been brought back to life as a boutique hotel.

The foundation stone was laid by Prince George, later King George VI, in 1935, a period where Bulawayo was considered by many to be the most powerful city in Southern Africa.

Revelling in a unique tradition and now lavishly renovated, the Club takes you back to a time less stressed and cynical. The classic intimacy of this remarkable establishment will ensure you return time and again.

While The Bulawayo Club has been lovingly renovated, much of the original furniture, fittings and early colonial artwork remains. Visitors will be walking in the steps of the giants, both illustrious and notorious, of Southern African history.

The Governors’ Restaurant is one of the most gracious dining venues in the city where hotel residents and guests can enjoy a fine dining experience. The restaurant is served by the “Lobengula Cocktail Lounge” which commemorates the brutal king of the Matabele people. Throughout the day, a light menu is available al fresco in “The Atrium.”

The ground floor boasts the best billiards room in the city, as well as the famous “Long Bar”, and the Member’s Library with its collection of rare books.

The Bulawayo Club has fifteen ensuite rooms and suites which have recently been refurbished carefully and in keeping with the Club's colonial atmosphere.

The Club's bedrooms are found on the second floor. The fifteen rooms have been brought into the 21st century with décor and fabrics which complement the dignified surroundings. The rooms are light and welcoming, with the high ceilings, big windows and Oregon pine floors fashionable in a bygone era.

The standard rooms have either queen beds or twin double beds, overhead fans and en-suite bathrooms. Each room is unique, some with balconies overlooking Bulawayo’s street life, some courtyard-facing.

The two suites provide an adjoining lounge with satellite TV. On the same floor the Residents Lounge and balcony provides the convenience of a mini-bar, tea and coffee station and satellite TV.
