Sedona is situated in the heart of Arizona. During the summer months it can be extremely hot with temperatures soaring to over 40 degrees, however, the heat is dry so more bearable. Winters are mild and pleasant although can be quite cold at night due to the elevation of the area. The best time to visit is Spring or Fall. Hiking is best during this time as the flowers bloom and the weather is warm but not scorching.

Enchantment Resort and Spa truly exceeded all of my expectations and I was pleasantly greeted with a fully serviced luxury resort nestled into the secluded Boynton Canyon, an area of outstanding natural beauty. You could spend a week here and never tire of the activities. Play golf, visit the spa, take a hiking trip, or simply relax around the pool.

The Enchantment Resort arguably has the best location in Sedona. Away from the busy town center and main roads, which are almost 20 minutes drive away, you would be forgiven for thinking youd taken a wrong turn on your directions as you seem to be heading directly out into the red rocks themselves. In fact, en route to the resort you will drive past two trailheads to incredible off the beaten track walks that your average visitor would never see. Enchantment Resort is the end of the road, theres nowhere beyond it except the red rocks and towering rugged tops themselves. The location took my breath away before I even got out of the car, the resort is completely framed by the rocks that make the most dramatic of backdrops. In keeping with its location, the resort has been designed and built in the same red rock and rustic style that surrounds it. It blends with its environment and its nice to see that the resort is true to its location. It is actually a pretty big place, however, feels remarkably compact as all the casitas are tucked away surrounding the main part of the resort. Here you find a choice of restaurants, each taking advantage of that amazing views, plenty of comfy seating as well, perfect for sundowners, with fire pits for when it grows chilly which it will as soon as that sun dips down. This is the desert and even though it can be incredibly hot during the day, it often dips down to chilly levels as the evening draws in and the skies clear. The resort can be a one stop shop. If you dont want to move for a week or so youll be well catered for. Whether you want to play one of the tennis courts, or play a game of croquet (yes they have a proper pitch for that) or play a little pitch and putt golf, its all there for you. Bikes are available free for guests to use to get out and about and explore the area or there are trailheads for anything from gentle through to demanding hikes within easy reach. Here youre away from the crowds too, the trails are quiet even at the busiest times of the year, hidden away from the coach groups. The kids are well catered for too with the Coyote Club program ensuring the little ones are kept occupied as the Mii Amo spa will surely beckon at some point. Voted one of the top spas in the USA, this is almost the size of a small hotel in itself with indoor and outdoor pools, healthy food restaurant and a mind boggling array of treatments reaching as far out there as color readings and psychic massage. Sedona is deeply spiritual and with its active vortex (points in which the earth is believed to emit swirling waves of energy) spa and healing is taken very seriously here. The resort even has its own spa cottages where guests can immerse them in the whole spa experience for a week or two if they week. That certainly sounded good to me although you cant come all this way and not experience all that Sedona and its environs has to offer. The Enchantment Resort is simply that, enchanting, but venture out and experience this stunning part of Arizona in all its glory.
