Housed in an historic building amongst the olive groves of the hills around Sirince, Gullu Konaklari is charming boutique property with spectacular views from the picturesque gardens that surround the house.

Tucked away on the hillside and surrounded by olive and rose gardens, Gullu Konaklari is a small property with just 12 rooms and a restaurant spread across three charming buildings. Its simple stone and whitewashed walls mirror the other historic buildings and homes of the village, their distinctive terracotta tiled roofs dotted throughout the lush greenery of the hills.

The eleven rooms and one suite of the hotel are split between two separate buildings, while a ‘Vineyard Cottage’ offers private accommodation just under a mile from the hotel. The homely decor is eclectic yet comfortable, with antique furniture and floral furnishings creating the sense of a stay in a friend’s home rather than a hotel. Fireplaces and roll-top baths in some of the rooms add to this sense of individuality and create a cosy and welcoming retreat.  Using many of its own products and others sourced locally, the restaurant serves up a delicious range of traditional Turkish dishes, beginning with a bountiful breakfast of Aegean honey, homemade cream, dried fruits, olives from the gardens and exotic jams. Seasonal and locally sourced produce influences the menu, from tandoori meats to fresh pasta and homegrown herbs. Meals are enjoyed in either the main restaurant or on the upper terrace, both of which offer stunning views over the gardens and countryside which provide many of the ingredients.  Lying in the village of Sirince and just 10km from the extraordinary archaeological remains of Ephesus, Gullu Konaklari is both a base from which to explore ancient wonders and historical treasures and a relaxing and scenic spot in which to unwind and enjoy the beauty of the Turkish countryside. Explore the charming streets of the village or hike out into the picturesque hills, visit little known sites of ancient Christianity and the temples, churches and mosques of the region.  As both a countryside escape and a chance to uncover ancient treasures, Gullu Konaklari is a delightful, homely escape in beautiful gardens with access to the rolling hills, olive groves and vineyards of this picturesque landscape.

Air-conditioning, minibars, ceiling fans and WIFI bring the historic rooms into the 21st century, while a number have a roll-top bath and fireplace as a nod to the building’s past. A separate Vineyard Cottage offers completely private and self-contained accommodation just under a mile from the hotel.

The hotel’s restaurant focuses on freshly prepared Turkish dishes and crafts local produce into a selection of delicious dishes. With many of the herbs, olive oils and other key ingredients grown on the grounds of the hotel, the meals perfectly capture the flavor of this rural area.
