The ski season in Verbier starts in early December and extends through into early May. Whilst the resort itself lies at 1500m, two gondola rides and you are at 2,700m with lots of high altitude skiing which is why there is skiing late into the season. Many of the slopes face West and South meaning that the resort does get plenty of sunshine and snow quality can sometimes suffer late in the season, although snow cover is largely unaffected as there is efficient snow-making equipment in place.

Description
The first ever ski retreat from the highly acclaimed W Brand, bringing a whole new level of stylish accommodation to the world-class ski resort of Verbier. The W Hotel Verbier is the only ski in/ski out 5 star hotel in the resort.
W is certainly for 'wow' when it comes to the W Verbier. This is the first ever foray into the mountains for the globally renowned W brand and the first international hotel chain to hit Verbier.
The W Hotel has direct access to the Place Blanche, the new heart of Verbier located at the bottom of the slopes, just a two minute walk from the Médran lift. Spread over four chalet-style buildings that blend perfectly into the traditional style of the resort. Style-wise it's a case of Urban chic meets Alpine tradition with a clever fusion of highly polished black surfaces with acres of glass interspersed with local wood and subtle homage to the red and white Swiss flag.
The fact that the piste has been extended to end right in front of the hotel making it the first ski in/ski out hotel in Verbier, sets the bar for the kind of experience you will encounter at the hotel.
Everything you could possibly need has been thought of - from Chef Sergi Arola’s modern, locally inspired menus, to an underground hot spot for late night cocktails.
The slick service from the W Team ensures that your every need is attended to round the clock.
Perched amidst the Swiss Alps at 5,000 ft, Verbier is the main resort in Switzerland's largest ski region, known as the 'Four Valleys'. Varied terrain, a strong snow record and some superb restaurants make this resort an ever popular choice. Try local fondues made with Bagnard cheese or sample 'Raclette' with locally grown garnishes.
Verbier's ‘front de neige’ outside the W Verbier has transformed the resorts look and allows you to ski directly back to the village.

Reviews
Cammie Burke (Staff)
The W hotel mixes a traditional swiss chalet feel with a modern, trendy contemporary design. The location is unbeatable just a two minute walk to the ski lifts yet positioned in a quiet subdue area. The ski rental is located directly next to the hotel and the full service boot room leads you almost directly onto the hill. The hotel is comprised of several chalet style buildings mixed with modern art throughout. The hotel offers six restaurants, cafs, bars, spa, pool and fitness area.
The staff will go over and beyond to make sure your stay is comfortable. A great fit for both couples and families, this ski in ski out property is 5 stars all around.
Bronwen May (Staff)
The W Hotel has by far the best location in Verbier, you can ski back directly to the hotel and the main lift out of the resort, the Medran is just a stones throw away. It is a very luxurious and very fun, contemporary hotel, with all the bells and whistles you could want on a ski vacation! All the rooms at the hotel are the same size with the difference between them being your view over the resort. They also have some very impressive suites which can connect to smaller rooms.
Alice Peal (Staff)
Far from your average ski hotel, the W hotel is modern, funky and colorful. Its location is as good as it gets in Verbier just across the road from the Medran lift, ski hire shops and a quick walk down the hill into Place Centrale. The restaurants are brilliant, rooms are all spacious and the spa facilities perfect for tired ski legs, but its not for you if you're after a real, cosy Alpine experience!
Georgina Carlisle (Staff)
The W has the most amazing atmosphere with a fun twist, the staff are fantastic with beaming smiles and always willing to help. The hotel captures the excitement and energy throughout with its personal DJ, fabulous spa and also with its great variation of restaurants. Whether it be in the new W Kitchen where they source all of their ingredients within twenty miles of the hotel or perhaps in their tapas bar where the variety on the menu is mind-blowing. The W Hotel is positioned in the best possible place in Verbier, with the Medran lift a stones throw and more importantly its aprs ski bar perched perfectly at the bottom of the last ski run of the day. The room sizes are phenomenal and the higher you are in the hotel the better the view over the valley.

It starts with the magic words, WHATEVER WHENEVER. The team here at the W Hotel really will make your stay a memorable one. Nothing was too much trouble at anytime and I received wonderful service throughout. My highlight was Nicole who manages the ski room and mountain concierge team - never has putting on ski boots been a more enjoyable experience. One of my other highlights of this short but relaxing visit was the food and wine, which is all locally sourced and served in exciting and imaginative ways. Of course I can't forget to mention the views which are stunning and seem to change every time I opened the curtains!
Katherine Gotla (Staff)
This hotel really has it all; faultless service, large rooms, indoor/outdoor pool and is the closest to ski in ski out you will get in Verbier. If you fancy dancing the night away it has its own nightclub and the mountain concierge is on hand to arrange anything, from off piste guiding to snowshoeing. Dinner can be taken at several restaurants all overseen by renowned Spanish chef Sergi Arola. Sit at the bar in Eat-Hola and watch freshly prepared tapas cooked and served before your eyes. The wine and Champagne list is a carefully chosen selection of both Swiss and international labels which can be enjoyed in Living Room with views stretching over Verbier and the valley below.
