The newly renovated Schweizerhof is located on the main bahnhofstrasse high street of Zermatt, 2 minutes walk from the Gornergrat railway. The hotel opened in late 2018 and is the project of Michel Reybier, the concept of the hotel is a new take on the art of mountain living, reinterpretating a guest-friendly hotel experience, designed to be distinctive.
The hotel has an elegant relaxed feel with a large lounge and bar area with a cozy open fire. All the rooms and suites are bright and spacious, with many of the suites offering magnificent views of the Matterhorn.
There is a choice of dining options in the hotel, a deep dive in a culinary world tour, from the Schweizerhof Kitchen with open show BBQ kitchen with wood oven and grill to La Muna, a South American cerviche corner with Asian influence. For Swiss specialities the Cheese Factory offers a brasserie style concept.
Children are well catered-for with the on site supervised Schweizer Kids Club. A children’s dinner menu can be served early and a babysitting service is available on request.
The resort of Zermatt lies at an altitude of 1620 meters at the foot of the world-renowned Matterhorn and surrounded by an additional 38 majestic peaks. Due to its southerly location, Zermatt shares part of its border with Italy and thus enjoys a mild climate with extended periods of sunshine. Although a beautiful and internationally renowned spot with numerous hotels, restaurants, bars and elegant shops, Zermatt has never lost any of its village charm and both in summer and winter remains an ideal spot for an active, refreshing or relaxing vacation.
