From Kotugoda you will transfer by car to Kandy, in the heart of Sri Lanka. The journey is about 4 -5 hours however there is plenty of tropical landscapes to admire on your journey. As the second largest city in Sri Lanka there is plenty to do and see here especially as an important pilgrimage destination.
With your guide you will be able to visit the most famous site in Kandy, the Temple of the Tooth which houses the tooth of Buddha. Days 4-7: Ella
From Kandy you will take a train to Nuwara Eliya, which is a fantastic experience and a brilliant way to see the countryside as you pass by the rolling hills and tea plantations.Known as 'Little England', this is a lovely area to spend a couple of days. With properties coming complete with beautifully manicured croquet lawns, colonial era buildings and surrounded by tea plantations it is no wonder it has the persona it does. We would suggest spending a couple of days unwinding here with a couple of walks through the plantations and tours through tea factories.
