South Coast, Sri Lanka
At a Glance
The rooms here are huge and bigger than most rooms along the south coast.
The food in the property is a real highlight. Enjoy hoppers for breakfast and great curries for diner. Great for those who enjoy Sri Lankan food!
A large pool for those who do not feel up to paddling in the sea. The pool is also a great place to sit with shaded sun beds to kick back and relax.
A very pretty stretch of deserted beach.
The sea can get quite rough and is never ideal for relaxing swimming.
The plunge pools are a great addition but they are cold water so only ideal after a hot afternoon on the beach.
Aditya is not activity focused; instead it offers a pleasant setting for sunbathing, swimming and strolling along the beach

From May to August the Yala monsoon brings rain to the island’s south western half. The southwest has the highest rainfall – up to 4000mm a year. There is also an inter-monsoonal period in October and November when rain can occur in many parts of the island. Colombo and the low-lying coastal regions have an average temperature of 27°C. The sea stays at around 27°C all year. Climatically speaking, the driest (and best) seasons in Sri Lanka are from December to March for the west and south coasts.

Aditya is a contemporary boutique hotel located midway between Galle and Hikkaduwa on a blissfully secluded stretch of beach and is in the perfect location for dipping in and out of Galle or simply winding down and relaxing.
Aditya is a stylish hotel with a modern design and a spacious environment. It is an all suite hotel comprising 12 simple but tastefully decorated rooms each with a private cold water plunge pool. Six of the rooms have private gardens and the remaining rooms have beautiful sea views. There is also a penthouse with sea views for added indulgence.
The public areas of the hotel have flashes of bold color contrasted with the ubiquitous polished concrete which you see in many beach properties in this area.
The food at this hotel is a real draw especially the excellent Sri Lankan cooking.
If you're looking for a small, modern beachfront hotel, with charming service, Aditya is a great option. It is also just 15 minutes from the colonial old town of Galle with its historic Dutch fort, boutiques and restaurants and 5 minutes from the popular surf resort of Hikkaduwa for those wanting to see the more relaxed and lively side of Sri Lanka.
An all suite hotel with 12 rooms. 6 have Gardens and the remaining suites (including the Penthouse) have sea views.

Aditya impressed me from the moment I walked through the doors to when I waved goodbye to this little piece of paradise! Located a few hours from Colombo and just 20 minutes from Galle Fort, Aditya holds a perfect position for those looking for a beach side break at the start or end of their vacation. The rooms are all a really good size and have the added luxury of a plunge pool, I was lucky enough to be in a Sagar Aka Sea View too which I'd recommend if you are happy to spend a little extra to upgrade from a garden room. The hotel also boasts a lovely pool area which is perfect to lie beside if you don't fancy the short walk down to the fantastic beach (swimming is only possible here during the high season). The beach is long, sandy and has lots of different spots to frequent if you are looking for a change of scene. I'd recommend dining at least a few times at Aditya as the food was fantastic.

Secluded on a palm-fringe beach and overlooking the Indian Ocean, Aditya offers the ideal setting to relax and unwind after exploring Sri Lanka. Tucked away between the historically rich Galle and Surf town of Hakkaduwa for those that can tear themselves away from the beach then there is plenty to do and explore. I found the service here to be some of the best in Sri Lanka, all members of staff were friendly, personable and attentive. They were very flexible in terms of what and when you wanted to eat, they were more than happy to give you a lift into Galle and the rooms were always beautifully maintained. The food here was delicious with lots of fresh sea-food, Sri Lankan curries and international cuisine. I stayed in the Sagara room which was incredibly spacious, had a large balcony and looked out to the Indian ocean. Sitting in the Jacuzzi in the evening watching the sun go down was a real highlight.

I really like the decor here and the fact that all of the (very spacious) suites have their own plunge pool. There is also a really nice beach.
