Average time to visit
Tswalu Kalahari Reserve offers a wonderful temperate climate which can be visited all year round. The best game viewing is from May to the end September
South Africa is a year-round destination with Cape Town at it's best from September to April. The summers are generally warm and dry, while winters tend to be wet and cool, the rains brought on by fierce north westerly gales. Neither season experiences extremes of temperature, thanks to prevailing winds. Summer (Nov-Mar) is the hottest with temperatures 20-40°C. Mid season (Apr, May, Sep, Oct) temps between 10-30°C. Winter (from June- Aug) is the low season with temps 0-25°C. The whale migration takes place between late July and early November. Spring (September, October) days start getting hotter, evenings and mornings could still be crisp but not as cold. A very slim chance of rain.
