April, May, June and September are some of the best months to visit Croatia, Slovenia and northern Italy as the temperatures will be pleasant and the most popular sights won't be as crowded with tourists. The warmest months of the year are July and August, during which time the daytime high temperatures will hover around between 20 to 30°C. The coldest months of the year on average are January and February, and rain can also be common at this time of year.

Fly to Zagreb
Day 1-3

Zagreb

Begin your adventure in Zagreb, the capital city and cultural heart of Croatia. With an old town center dating back to the 11th century, here you’ll be able to see beautiful architecture and discover a centuries-old culture.

Spend two nights at the Esplanade Zagreb and explore the city with your private guide, admiring elegant neo-classical buildings, charming cobbled streets and vibrant local markets. Visit Zagreb’s impressive cathedral and take in the panoramic views across the city’s rooftops.

Day 3-6

Ljubljana

Your next stop is Slovenia and its charming capital city, Ljubljana. This beautiful, yet undiscovered city is home to a wealth of picturesque pastel architecture, riverside bars and restaurants, and a lively atmosphere in the old town center.

You’ll spend three nights in Ljubljana at the heart of the city, where you’ll have the chance to explore with your private guide. Head up to the 16th-century castle to learn about Ljubljana’s history, before enjoying the incredible views over the city. Venture out of the city to discover one of Slovenia’s most celebrated landmarks, the spectacular Lake Bled. Admire the emerald green waters, surrounded by the snow-capped peaks of the Julian Alps, and take a boat out to Bled’s quaint island to explore its tiny church. You’ll also visit nearby Lake Bohinj, less known but equally as beautiful as its more famous counterpart. Walk around this remarkable lake and take the cable car high into the surrounding mountains to take in the breathtaking views.

Day 6-8

Venice

Leaving Slovenia behind, continue on to Venice, a dazzling city built across a network of intertwining canals and waterways. You’ll spend two nights here, giving you time to get under the skin of this elegant and opulent city.

Discover the history of Venice with your private guide, visiting iconic landmarks such as St Mark’s Square and the Doge’s Palace to transport you back in time to the golden age of the Republic of Venice. Admire the intricate architecture of St Mark’s Basilica before immersing yourself in Venice’s backstreets, getting lost in its winding alleyways. End your tour with a private water taxi or gondola through Venice’s canals and get to know the city from a new perspective.

Day 8-11

Northern Italy

Your final stop will be Lake Garda, the largest of the Italian Lakes. This spectacular lake boasts an array of charming towns and villages along its shore, while dramatic mountains provide a truly majestic backdrop.

Spend three nights in Lake Garda’s northernmost town, Riva del Garda, where you’ll have ample opportunity to get out on the water or venture into the nearby mountains. An adventure lover’s playground, Riva del Garda is the perfect place to try watersports such as windsurfing or sailing on the crystal-clear water. Explore the towering mountains surrounding Lake Garda with a panoramic trek along hiking paths or an exhilarating bike ride along the huge selection of cycle paths. Spend a final day with your private guide visiting nearby Malcesine, and take the cable car up to Monte Baldo for truly incomparable views across Lake Garda.
