Completely secluded location with a panoramic view from your room
Simple no frills accommodation with en-suite bathrooms and air-conditioning
Activities are available on site including mountain biking and trekking in the surrounding hills
A swimming pool with a view!
The View's location on the side of a mountain is fantastic, and as the name suggests, the vistas are truly spectacular. The View is located at 1,400 meters above sea level, and is reached by driving through 8 kms of fairly bumpy winding road from Al Hamra to Hail Al Shas. Each room has its own terrace above the rocky valley landscape below.
There are two room categories; Superior and Premier Rooms, most of which are in individual cabins spaced throughout the resort. Premier Rooms are at the front of the resort and so enjoy uninterrupted views out over the valley.
The rooms are comfortably furnished with a wardrobe, desk, TV and an en-suite bathroom, fitted with a bath tub, shower and WC. There are also private decks with a table and chairs - perfect for watching the spectacular sunset over the mountains.
The food is un-complicated and wholesome, featuring a buffet with a range of salads and hot dishes. There is also a live cooking station for eggs at breakfast and pasta in the evening. The View does not have an alcohol license, and while guests can bring their own, this can only be consumed in their rooms.
The hotel has a beautiful infinity pool with views out over the mountains and down into the valley. Activities in the local area include trekking, donkey safaris, mountain biking and visits to cultural sites. Local attractions include Misfat Al Abreen, the old villages of Al Hamra, the famous Fort of Bahla and Jabreen Castle, the beautiful Wadi of Tanuf and Wadi Ghul, Jebel Shams and Jebel Akhdar.
When to visit
Temperatures can be dramatically different to the sea level cities like Muscat. In the cooler months it is important to take a fleece for the chillier evenings.
