For the warmest temperatures of the year and most hours of sunshine visit Ålesund and the surrounds during the summer months of May through to August. September is a charming time to visit too with the beginning of the stunning Fall colors and when the region is slightly less busy.
For skiing, February to April is the best time for snow and daylight hours.

Days 1-3: Oslo
Kick start your week in the fun and vibrant city of Oslo, built around the water’s edge against a backdrop of lush surrounding hills. Oslo has a cosmopolitan vibe and seamlessly blends modern and classic architecture. You will be taken back to the glamorous 1920s with a modern twist staying at the acclaimed Amerikalinjen. Famous for its in-house cocktail bar, Pier 42, popular with both guests and locals, serving classic cocktails, and also host to a jazz club for a fun evening full of live music and dancing. The prime location makes it so easy to pop out to the stylish bars and restaurants for the evening.
A splendid way to explore the city is by bike and we have included a guided bicycle tour which will allow you to head down small streets discovering hidden locations and local hideouts, stopping at the heart of Oslo’s food scene, the famous indoor market, Mathallen. Capture the perfect insta worthy shot of the iconic Oslo architecture before you might like to take a stroll through Vigeland Sculpture park where you can meander among 212 bronze and granite statues.
Accommodation: Amerikalinjen (2 nights)

Days 3-4: Alesund & West Coast Fjords
A short 55-minute domestic flight takes you into the heart of Norway’s western fjords as you touch down in Ålesund. Ålesund is a beautiful waterfront city which was almost entirely burnt to the ground at the beginning of the 1900s and was re-built influenced by German Art Nouveau style with stunning pastel-colored buildings. You will be the envy of all your friends staying at the Hotel Brosundet, a seriously stylish boutique hotel located right on the water. This old warehouse has sloping floors and exposed beams that hark back to its life as a warehouse but with modern Scandinavian décor, think deep bathtubs and plate glass showers, pure white ceramics and Ren products. Bliss! With in-house restaurant Maki, one of the city’s best, this really is the perfect base for couples to reside.
From Ålesund you can indulge in a number of activities focusing on the beautiful fjords and mountains that surround the city. We highly recommend hopping in a RIB and heading out to Runde Island on a sea safari in the hope of spotting puffins and seals in their natural habitats.Accommodation: Hotel Brosundet (1 night)

Days 4-7: Norwegian Fjords
Your last stop will be the wonderful Storfjord Hotel whose inviting sofas by the roaring open fires will make you never want to leave! Nestled above the fjord with some of the best views to be had, it combines modern comforts with traditional log cabin exteriors, and tasteful contemporary interiors. With several outbuildings housing suites as well as the main cabin where the wonderful sitting rooms and mezzanine area can be found, this boutique hotel is full of charming luxury ambience.
If you can tear yourself away from Storfjord, head to Hjørundfjord and explore its beautiful scenery by kayak with your very own private instructor leading the way. As you paddle along the calm waters, admire the incredible views of the surrounding mountains from this unique perspective.
For a change of pace, why not spend an afternoon at a local Storfjord farm and discover traditional Norwegian dishes, with plenty of produce to taste. The farm grows all its own food, so you'll be sampling the freshest ingredients.
After one last day of hiking, kayaking or just some well-earned relaxing it's time to head home, hopefully feeling rejuvenated and re-energised after a week in the fjords, full of fresh air and delicious food!
