Following a transfer to Queenstown Airport, board your scheduled flight to Milford Sound. During the 35-minute scenic flight, take in expansive views of golden tussocked high country and the upper reaches of Lake Wakatipu and fly over the snow-capped Southern Alps. Below, a hidden landscape unfolds revealing waterfalls, glacial lakes, cloud-piercing summits and densely forested valleys. On arrival at Milford Sound, you will join a scheduled one hour 40-minute cruise to the mouth of the fiord on a spacious, modern vessel with excellent viewing opportunities. During your cruise you may see fur seals basking on the rocks, dolphins, and penguins with scenic highlights including Mitre Peak and Pembroke Glacier. There is informative commentary from the captain who explains the history and highlights points of interest during the cruise.Following the cruise, you will be transferred to Milford Airport for the scheduled scenic flight back to Queenstown. The flight takes a different path on the return leg so that you get to experience even more of the stunning scenery. Return taxi transfers are provided to accommodation on arrival at Queenstown Airport.
