Regent Porto Montenegro is part of an exciting new area situated close to the coastal town of Tivat. It is located on the site of a brand new marina lined with many designer outlets, restaurants, and of course the impressive yachts.
The hotel comprises of 149 spacious rooms and suites and benefits from lovely views out across the marina and across the sea. The 'U' shaped nature of the hotel means than many rooms benefit from the stunning sea views of Boka Bay. The non-sea facing rooms offer a lovely mountain backdrop, so are still great options.
There is an outdoor pool within the hotel, where you can relax in the sun. If you wanted a more vibrant pool area then you can head over to the Porto Montenegro Yacht Club Lido which is €25 per person entry including a sun lounger and towel, so it would be worth making a day out of it. This has been compared to a Nikki Beach style facility, so there is lounge music as well as, of course, sun lounger service with food and drinks. If you wanted more of a relaxing beach day then you can head across the bay to the secluded sandy beach only accessible by boat. You would take a boat across, which takes around 20 minutes and you'll also find a restaurant for welcome refreshments or a bite to eat. For the return boat transfer, sun loungers for the day as well as some welcome mineral water it is €40 per person - therefore again definitely worth making a full day out of it.
There is also a spa with an indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room as well as a wide range of treatments on offer. The 24 hour gym is also a great addition here.
The 149 rooms and suites are extremely spacious, with the smallest room being 40 square meters. They are styled in a nautical design which is to give the feeling of staying on a luxury ship. The combination of sea blues, stripes and other touches such as table tops with compasses brings all of this together. The bathrooms are also generous in size, each providing separate baths and showers. Many of the rooms have balconies too, so you can relax and enjoy the views from here.
Children are welcome, however there are no specific facilities for them. There are interconnecting rooms available which can work well for families.
There is one main restaurant at the hotel, with both outdoor and indoor seating options. The menu offers delicious Mediterranean cuisine using locally sourced produce and especially delicious seafood.
There is also the Gourmet Corner which is a French-style patisserie, offering delicious cakes and treats. There is an outdoor terrace here as well, so it can be a lovely spot to enjoy an afternoon treat and watch the world go by.
The Library Bar is a great place for an after dinner drink, where they often have live musicians performing.
The hotel can arrange hire of SUPs, kayaks as well as sailing lessons too. There is a waterskiing cable not far from the hotel as well. A great way to explore the area further would be to go on a hiking or mountain biking tour where you can admire the views from the mountains.

The Regent Porto Montenegro is located in a purpose built luxury marina village in the heart of Boka Bay. The beautiful resort hotel offers many options for couples and families looking to get away from it all and explore Montenegro. The Regent currently has two main accommodation buildings, the Venetian style original building and the Aqua building which offers a slightly more contemporary feel. My Deluxe Seaview Room was very spacious and it had a wonderful balcony overlooking the marina and the Mediterranean sunsets. There is one fine dining restaurant and multiple casual restaurant options on site. The Regent Porto Village is also Home to either other dining options and the town of Tivat is less than a five minute walk away. The hotel offers a spa with an indoor swimming pool, a huge new outdoor swimming pool and access to the Marina yacht club pool located just a five minute walk away. Montenegro does not have any private beaches but the hotel has access to a lovely beach that is staffed by their employees and it is just a 15 minute boat ride away. The Regent concierge would be happy to arrange excursions to Kotor, Lake Skadar or even further afield. Overall, this hotel and marina village are a lovely option for those wishing to explore Montenegro. The service was slightly spotty during my stay and but it was a public vacation on Montenegro and therefore they may have been overwhelmed.

Situated just 15 minutes from Tivat airport this is the ideal base for those seeking a waterside retreat for a long weekend, or as part of a wider itinerary exploring Montenegro and neighboring Croatia. It's within an arms reach of a variety of great dining options and shops, with a variety of activities available to keep adults and children alike entertained, from access to a members pool club, boat trips to a secluded beach, and bike hire to explore Tivat old town and surrounds. You're also a short drive from the UNESCO World Heritage fortified town of Kotor and the quaint town of Perast.
The staff of the Regent Porto Montenegro go out of their way to make you feel welcome, endeavouring to always refer to guests by name. They have a lovely outdoor pool overlooking the sea and surrounding hills, which is lovely to swim in at sunset and watch the colors change. They also have an indoor pool, gym and spa as well as a few different dining options. For families looking for apartment style accommodation, certain room categories come with fully kitted kitchenettes. A neighboring sister property is set to open next summer which will have a large family friendly pool guests of the Regent will be able to use, and a number of new stores and restaurants are due to open by then too - definitely one to watch!

I really liked the hotel as a whole and thought that the location right on the water was great. There are many restaurants to choose from along the marina village too. The hotels interior style like a luxury cruise liner is unique and something I've never seen in a hotel before.
The food in 'The Dining Room' is delicious and definitely worth trying a platter of the traditional smoked cheese and meats paired with either a Montenegrin red wine, Macedonian white or Serbian rose.
