Jerash

Drive north to visit Jerash, the best example of a roman provincial city in the whole Middle East. You will visit the Hadrian's Arch, Hippodrome, Colonnaded Street, Cathedral, Jerash Archaeological Museum, North Theatre and South Theatre.
Jerash lies on a plain surrounded by hilly wooded areas and fertile basins. Conquered by General Pompey in 63 BC, it came under Roman rule and was one of the ten great Roman cities of the Decapolis League. The visible ruins of the city we see today are believed to represent only about 10% of the complete area of the original site, but with its triple-arched gateway and colonnaded streets, it is one of the archaeological highlights of the region.
