Days 1-2: Delhi
Your adventure begins in Delhi for one night. In this itinerary Delhi is really acting as your entry point into India so you won’t have much time here to explore but if you are up for it, we definitely recommend checking out some of the amazing street food Delhi has to offer which we can arrange for you with your private guide.
Accommodation: The Lodhi (1 night)
-
Days 2-5: Bandhavgarh National Park
From Delhi you will move on to Bandhavgarh, which you will reach with a short flight into Jabalpur. The Bandhavgarh National Park is in the north of Madhya Pradesh and was the former hunting ground for the Maharaja of Rewa. The park has open grasslands as well as Sal forests and offers an incomparable likelihood to witness the tiger in the wild. Bandhavgarh is quite hilly, making the views stunning – and it also contains an amazing remote temple in the center of the park. Over your three nights here we have included morning and afternoon game drives daily with your expert naturalist who will be on hand to teach you all about the incredible flora and fauna in the region along with the rich animal and birdlife.
Accommodation: Mahua Kothi (3 nights)
-
Days 5-8: Kanha National Park
You will then take a five-hour drive south to Kanha National Park. Kanha is one of the largest parks in India and contains a mixture of meadows, grassy highlands and bamboo jungle. It has a large population of tigers and leopards as well as swamp deer. Like in Bandhavgarh we have included daily safaris, immersing you in this incredible landscape and if you have not been able to glimpse a tiger in Bandhavgarh, you’ll have more chances here in Kanha.
As all of our itineraries are customized, so if you don’t want to end your trip here we can of course adapt your itinerary just for you. You may wish to add a visit to the impressive Ahilya Fort which is accessed by a short flight from Nagpur to Indore. Or instead you could fly down to Kerala for some beach time at the end of your trip. If you are interested in adding a little more culture into your trip we suggest adding Varanasi or Khajuraho – pretty much anything is possible so just let us know!Accommodation: Banjaar Tola (3 nights)
